Fine for the times but what about NOW??He could do the George Lynch ripped jeans T shirt thing and look hip for the stage. But hey, he's got his own thing going on I guess. Gotta respect that.

Hey you Rig Talkers, Pete Thorn here...

this thread is timely, as I'm lucky enough to be headed to NYC tomorrow to join my buddy Steve Stevens, Sebastian Bach, Anton Fig, and Neil Jason for 3 nights of shows at The Iridium (close to Times Square). Come on out and see us tear the place up! Going to be a blast....

Fri, Sat and Sunday?

I could possibly make it Sunday

I think Kage and I are going to be there tonight. I might head back on Sunday if possible. I am stoked.

Besides the recently (last year) surfaced 1993 MTV VMA performance of "You're Invited But Your Friend Can't Come", this is the only other clip of SS playing one of his Washburn sig. models live.
This is a Washburn NAMM jam from 1993. This is Steve's natural finished SS-80 one of the only two Washburn's he still owns.
Notice his killer Park head and Marshall plexis:

Last year at the Iridium, "Freeway Jam", Steve said he played this as a teenager in Central Park:

Interesting project SS was involved in "One World, One Voice" from 1990, after this experience and seeing Sting in the sessions, SS sent Sting a demo tape, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your point of view, it never worked out. Interesting footage of Steve's 1977 Ramirez guitar and also some unique SS-3 Hamer's that are owned by one of my Internet acquaintances .
Also Steve's killer Marshall plexi recording setup is shown.. :) :)

The first video was the whole thing, these two 'making of' show what we are interested in..

These two Hamer SS-3's are both reverse head stocks and the 'black/white' one is a reverse of the 'white/black' model that I had replicated!. It has dual humbuckers. The white Hamer SS-3 on the stand looks to be a Jim O'Connor graphic, it is the more familiar single coil/ humbucker configuration. How annoying the Francois translations, lettuce hear the English!!
Steve's rack is amazing, it's to the left of the amps, includes his Dimension D in action!!

Since Pete Thorn will be in the band for the Iridium show here are clips from last years Tone Merchant's show, which I had hoped they were going to release on DVD, as it was pro shot and recorded, but that's rock and roll..

Looking forward to this weekends show, though I will have to settle for the pod cast as last year, on Sat. nite.
I suggested to SS on FB that they should do some of Seb's stuff, like 18 and Life, Youth Gone Wild, these would sound awesome with the Stevens/Thorn guitar arsenal.

Some men made Steve mad at HRI, the thread was pulled for some reason and I missed it.

Mad about a guitar or something and another builder was involved?
There was no incitement or incident.
All threads with the NAMM gifted Luxxtone whether video or pictorial were simultaneously pulled from all sites.
Read into that what you will.

Steve rules btw

Some men have angry PMs that read that men were confused and mad, one Baird man has a thank you for calling as it was.

How I read it.

Enjoy the show!expect a full write up in the am. Lol!

Ditto.

On another note, the show was tremendous. Steve was fantastic as was Pete, Sebastian Bach, Anton Fig and Neil Jason. Kage and I met with Pete, who was very cool. Steve and Josie were nice enough to take a pic with me, but my giant head pretty much dwarfs them lol. I think Kage got some video that he might be able to post if it came out. I will post any pics if they came out if you guys want. There were some Suhr amps and guitars and Les Pauls up there, but Pete could fill you in better. SS played a cool LP with leds the whole night. I tried to get some pics, but I am betting on them coming out blurry. They covered some Beck, Aerosmith, Trower, Zepp, Van Halen, Skid Row... Good Times.

Yeah, I fully recommend that you all watch the webcast. I would go back but I am going to see Lenny Kravitz rock Radio City Music Hall tonight.

A couple of things, if memory serves.

1. Steve posted a link on HRI some time ago. It's from a live radio-broadcast of a show in Dallas. A lot of the Atomic Playboys, and some great covers. Like Lucille and Highway Star. It's from the Atomic Playboys-era.

2. Friedman did the last Steve Stevens-rig, and the pictures etc are posted in his sub-forum here.

3. Steve has answered a shitload of tone-related questions over at HRI, if anyone is interested.

4. He's a kickass guitarist. Everything he does. You might not like the song, the singer or something else, but his playing and tone is always great.

5. I also remember reading a rather funny story regarding the Top Gun-theme. HRI that as well, if memory serves.

I love the guy. Anyone who can pull off that look get's a star in my book. He even has gold frets.
