Has anyone had experiences with both of these amps?? I currently own the JCM but have been thinking about trading/selling it off for a Lynx 50. I am hesitant because of the fun factor, history and simplicity of the JCM to let it go. However, I have read a ton of great things about the Lynx 50. I feel like I may enjoy more of what it has to offer over the one-way JCM.

I am currently using a '78 Les Paul Custom with '80 Seymour Duncan PAFs with two different cabs: Mesa 4x12 with UK Celestion V30s and Bogner UberKab. I play more aggressive music and tend to use my 5150 over the JCM. I feel like the Lynx might bring a more unique sound and spice things up a bit for me.

If you have any experiences or thoughts, please let me know! I would love any knowledge or opinions on the amps.

Thanks!

wow, a bad cat for aggressive music? I would be curious to hear it with the 5150.

From what I've read and heard online, it appears that the Lynx can get a bit more gain heavy than a bare JCM 800. But I am curious to hear if there is anyone that has played or owned both and might have opinions about them comparatively.

A very good friend of mine has the lynx 50...I have tested it many times...
I own a modded handwired 2204...
Here's the feedback...

Lynx DESTROYED my friends SLO...it had a better master volume, the saturation was cleaner in any volume and it was bass heavier than the SLO...
It had a great clean channel(don't worry about the 2 knobs) but my friend and I,we both love single channel amps so the volumes knob is the "channel switcher".As you can Imagine it had great dynamics and great response.(I wouldn't mind a single gain channel in the lynx).
the cons...and why my fried has the amp on classifieds................

lynx is a single ended class A 50W amp...This can be a great thing regarding dynamics and volume control but as for loudness,it is more like a 30-35W amp...
When you use it against a 2203 you can get easily lost...
Also it has a signature sound, not very classic sunding amp.
Take that also in consideration,as you want o unload a "classic"...
