I picked up a Stone Age 2x12 about a month ago and loaded it with a pair of G1265's from the 80's. I've played a lot of 2x12's and owned many, Mesa, Bogner, Port City, Avatar, Scumback, and maybe a few others that are slipping my mind. This Stone Age cab sounds soo damm good for a 2x12. Not sure if it's the cab itself or the old speakers I threw in it but I'm really glad I bought it.

I was thinking of maybe throwing some other speakers in it but the G1265's really work. I have a band practice in 2 weeks and we play LOUD. I usually use a Marshall 4x12 that's there but I may take the 2x12 and see how it does. The other guitar player will be using an old JCM800 4x12 loaded with 65's as well. I had the 2x12 setup as a partial open but I just sealed it up to see how it sounds.

When playing at home I really don't miss a 4x12 that much since I keep the volume low if anyone else is home. Another very good 2x12 though is the Port City OS2x12. My friend Ivan has one and that cab sounds good as well. I owned 2 Bogner 2x12 in the past and one of them sounded like shit, and one sounded good. Maybe the V30's weren't broken in? Who knows.

Just thought I'd mention this killer 2x12 cab. Maybe our buddy Richeddie was onto something after all. :D

I hear great things about them as well. John/Stone age cabs is like 20 minutes from my home.
I called him a couple times in the past and talked about getting some work done on one of my cabs I already had but I never got it done on my part. He was super cool talking with and very easy to reach.
Sounds like a killer cab. Awesome man.

Congrats, Dan. Those Stone Age 2x12c cabs are awesome! I don't mean to hijack your thread - just giving the above poster some options......

The only other 2x12 I am currently looking at is the Bogner. Thanks for the review of the stoneage.
You should seriously consider one of these as well. They are handmade by Matt Petersen ("Tonefree") over on TGP. Very similar to the StoneAge 2x12C and Bogner oversized 2x12. All baltic birch, finger joint construction. Beautiful cabs! They won't be going for $415 for much longer, I can guarantee you that. Get in on the low price while Matt builds his business.....
