Something like this

I use Dunlop and Ernie Ball strap locks because the strap is mounted on the inside of the locks. No nuts to check or retighten.

Duct tape.

i have a few friends who did this to their guitars, no joke.

dimarzio clip locks for me. i have used schaller/dunlop style, just not my cup of tea.

I like the Schallers a little better, but only because the screws of the Dunlops are horrible. They strip very easily and are made of some crappy alloy. When any customers bring in the Dunlops for me to install, I'll usually grind down the heads of a pair of stainless steel screws to fit and use those instead. Otherwise, the Dunlops are fine.

Dunlops are the only ones I have seen fail...

Hard to beat the Grolsch Washers for ease of use and price. :D

Schallers. I have tried a few different types over the years but I dig the Schallers the best.

I ran a thread last year and asked this exact question. I went with schallers.
I use a leather punch to enlarge the strap hole just a touch and then use high strength. lock tight/red on the threading for the schaller when ya put the nuts on. Problem solved.

i go to the hardwear store and get i bolts and drill the strap hole out to fit them.

I never used the screws that came with them. I used bigger and longer screws and drilled the buttons to accept them. Also drilled the guitars to accept them too. They never get loose.

Never had a strap come off with Dunlops for the 10 years I've used them.

None... fast forward to the end and you'll see why. You just cannot pull off these kind of tricks using straplocks.

I used to use the Schaller's and never had a problem. I've since realized I'm not Steve Vai and I really have no need for strap locks. My guitars stay where they're supposed to.

I read on the Gear Page that some guy named Jack Butcher makes custom strap locks from a secret stash of copper from a mine on his own property. They only cost $475 for a set and they're said to increase sustain and resonance in your tone, ESPECIALLY if you use a D style amp.
