So i have 2 Strats, one has passive single coils, the other has EMG-SA's, the passives hum like a bitch with gain on positions 1, 3 & 5, my favorite positions on a Strat are 2 & 4, if i got a lil 59' mini-bucker or similar, would that make positions 2 & 4 out of phase and hum???

I have a Lil 59 in that same configuration and it doesn't hum at all in positions 2 and 4.

What about 1, 3, & 5 ?

I used to have a full set of dimarzio hum canceling virtual vintage pups, and had zero hum
In any position.

Well, position 1 would be just the Lil 59, so it would not hum since it's a humbucker, 3&5 will still hum.

Personally, a little hum doesn't bother me. Some of the best recorded strat tones had the hum, along with that great tone.

This is correct. If the other two pups are regular single coils, you will still get hum in 3 and 5.
