This thing blows away all of the other Rectos I have owned. I have the red channel dialed in for leads. I was never able to do that with any of the 3 channel rectos. I am going to use pedals on the clean channel for everything else. Clean channel is very uninspiring, but should do well with pedals.

Interestingly enough, I am not having any issues with the parallel loop at all. I am using a Time Factor delay and it sounds great. No wooshing, motoboating or out of phase sounds. Maybe because the pedal is line level? I dunno.

Great amp.

I can't remember if it's the early ones or the later ones, but some had a series loop instead of the parallel. I heard of some mods too *after* I already owned and sold two rackmounts because of the fx loop issue. One can replace or jumper a wire or two and turn the parallel into a series. If I did that I'd probably still own one.

Glad you're digging it Fritz! I liked the raw tone of my rackmounts better than the real early head I had (SN was under #200 and the chassis was reversed color-wise).

The problem with the parallel loop was that it would be slightly out of time with any fx in the loop - it was like you were running a delay at just a few milliseconds all the time. It wasn't close enough to thicken the sound, it was just enough to give the sounds an out of phase kinda 'wispy' thing going on. Kinda like Eric Johnson's vocals. :)
