What would you guys use?

I use DR 11-50 in E standard and Eb. Playing mostly metal, prog so there's some jazz thrown in there. :)

What gauge for C# (and C out of curiousity) will give me a similar feel to 11-50 in E? I'm thinking 12-52. I don't mind a wound 3rd at all, I'm a freak about intonation.

You can buy prepackaged Everly strings for drop tunings, but I didn't like them.

For guitars that I leave in Drop B for Slipknot moments, I bought Ernie Ball singles in 11-15-18-28-38-58. You won't like a wound G string either.

I do 12s with a plain G. possibly that Zakk wylde set that goes to 70 from ghs. Although Im not a ghs fan at all. Not in to the wound G either

D'addario EXL145's would be perfect IMO...12-54 with a plain G. PERFECT for tuning low.

I used to use 12-56's for C tuning, but after having problems with my hands I have to use lighter strings. I use 10-46's for C standard now.

11-50 E Standard? Wow...I use 48-10.5 on D standard.

I play in C# standard for a punk/crust band, using Ernie Ball Beefy strings on an Ibanez with tremelo.

11-52, wound G. With a proper setup, "C Standard" feels pretty good.

EBMM Not Even Slinkys are decent.
I've used them before, they're my drop C/B gauge, but I don't like EB strings and that 24p G is crazy, I've had so many problems with it.

Why wow? :D For me I like the consistancy of thicker strings, I can still play fast with 11-50 in E but not as well as 10s.

The 'wow' thing really is that I have pretty small hands. But manliness and string gauge don't have any connotations, to me anyway, I know guys with huge hands who play 9-42, personal preference and playing style I suppose, it's even more odd that I play 11s because I'm mainly a lead player, although, it's only 11s, only one step above standard 10-46.
