I got my axe straight from luthier yesterday.
He set my strings very low , about 0.8 mm above treble E , and 1.6 above bass E.
Yeah , without fret buzz ! but that set up was very uncomfortable to me.
I raised action from treble side to about 1.2 mm above treble E.
This is correct , normal action ??
It should be called "low action" or "medium action" ?

I'm not sure if it would be consider low action, medium action, etc but the right set up is what works for you. The most important thing for avoiding fret buzz is usually truss rod adjustment. If that is correct, you can raise/lower your action to taste within reason.

there is no set height. It is more a personal preference. Myself, I can't stand super low action and always have to raise the bridge on any guitar I buy. The tone is better with higher action than lower. Lower action a lot of people say is easier to play on for me its the opposite, especially bending.

try 2 mm on the bass and 1.5mm on the trebble as a good starting point.
