I don't know how it sounds but I'll tell ya the Digitech Hardwire CM2 Tube Overdrive is killer with the Dual Rec. I was happily surprised! I have a Suhr Riot on the way I can test out with the Dual Rec, but no Koko Boost kicking around. Sorry I couldn't answer your question directly.

The Suhr Riot is a distortion pedal, which near as I can tell was designed to be used with an amp set for a clean sound. Are you gonna run your Dual Rec clean with the Riot? Just wondering...

Yeah true. I was just saying it as it's the only Suhr I'll be able to try on a Mesa for now. Oh plus I just woke up when I wrote that haha. I don't plan on using the Mesa at all actually. It's just a studio option at this point. I'm A/B'ing my Herbert & Ultra Lead.

Ah, ok - I see - I've got a Riot - it sounds killer with a clean amp. Also have a Koko boost on the way, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that thing gooses the amp I built on the plexi channel...

Definitely let us know how the Koko sounds!

I'm not sure where/how I'll use the Riot. Anxious to find out!

How does it sound with a Recto?

FUCKING. PHENOMENAL.

I've gone through every flavor of Tubescreamer known to man, including an Analogman-modded OD808, I've tried Bad Monkeys, OCDs, Fulldrives and a Keeley Katana with my Road King II, and none of them sound as perfect to my ears as the Koko Boost on the mid-boost side. The mid-boost gives you a nice, smooth, non-spiky dose of mids while working with the boost side for gain. I've never had more compliments on my tone than I have since I switched to the Koko Boost. (I"ve seriously gotta spend some $$ on some decent recording gear soon so I can post my crappy clips along with everyone else's!) I've also got a Riot that I use with my clean channels from time to time, but for my money, the Suhr Koko Boost is the best boost I've ever tried with a Recto.

I love the Koko Boost, like you said especially on the mid boost side...just wicked!

I would love to hear that!!

Just grab an emu 0404 (or even the 0202) and an sm57 and you should be gold...

Your vid was what sold me, man!

It didn't take long, either, the first time I kicked in that mid-boost, it really impressed and breathed new life into that amp for me. IMO, it's the perfect compliment to a Recto and gives it just the right little push in the one area where they're a little lacking, the mids dept, it's like it was made for that amp!

The koko is really fucking cool! I'm boosting a DSL and a M90 in stereo and it sounds insane! It's become my fav pedal!

I'd prefer buying a real tubescreamer style pedal with a good clean boost rather then the kokoboost
Maxon OD-808 and Xotic BB Preamp is the best combo for me
I've bought both used on ebay (there's plenty) for less then the koko boost (which is pretty hard to find used)
my 2cents.

I also have a OD-808, and i know the Koko boost is expensive but it kills the maxon. It's just adds something extra

So far i've tried maxon 808 sounded good but compress the tone too much and the bb sounded great really transparent but i think it has too much gain for the recto

Can't you just run the BB lower? I'm using an 808 now, and I lose some feel and clarity with it, but I figure that's the cost of slamming the input stage.
