Here's the solo section (my take on it) of Forever Young by Tyketto. I heard it the other day and decided I should learn it...really cool tune from the early 90's.
I'm using my Suhr Modern and my OD100se+ with my stage rack into a little Randall 2x12".
As always please forgive the gaffs :)

Hehe...Brooke is one of my best bro's. Everything I've learned about tone comes from hundreds of hours in his basement plugging in every conceivable combination of gear you can think of. Never got the kudos they deserved.

Very cool...he is a monster player. Awesome that you got to hang and learn from him.

LMAO!!! I thought that I was the only Tyketto fan here... Cool stuff MArk..

Mark, awesome..... great tone and playing is flawless as usual.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but, would you mind talking to me a bout the blackouts? I wanna go passives in my next guitar, but I've been told the blackouts sound VERY VERY nice...almost passive-like

I would need to play Blues/rock/hard rock with them.... can theypull off the jazz/blues cleans?

No problemo.
I really like the AHB1's, they are fuller and less compressed than EMG's. I find they clean up way better too.
Here's a video with some cleans, I did a comparison between a LP and my Suhr Modern.

awesome.

btw, is it hard to rewire an EMG loaded guitar and throw blackouts in there?

If the EMG has Quik-Connect, then you don't have to do anything. The Blackouts are Quik-connect ready...direct drop in replacement for EMG..same value pots the whole 9 yards.

great! I guess I can now order two blackouts to try out in my edwards explorer.

Great comparison! Blackouts definitely have that active vibe in them. The amp breathes & crunches better with LP passive IMO. Obviously, it's just a matter of taste, both have their place.

For me I have to fight with that LP too much to enjoy playing it. I guess I'm just an active pickup lover or at least just more used to them.
