they look ok. its really weird but if a headstock doesnt do it for me. i lose it for the whole shebang

Yeah it looks like he has 3 different options. I like the Captain Hook headstock. Looks badass.

I read that article about Grover as well. It says he is going to build a batch of his 71's (the black flamed guitar in the pic) with Grover Jackson. That's pretty damn awesome. It doesn't go into detail but idk, I'd take a guess and say Grover liked his work and agreed to work with him. I bet he's going to learn some priceless info during the building process.

Same here. I can't stand that headstock shape. Deal breaker for me.

I couldn't care less if the guitar is hot pink with unicorn graphics but if the headstock is ugly to me, ain't gonna buy it.

I've got one of his Raven's on order, should be done fairly soon. Spalt maple top on mahogany body and neck

Sully's a big Rhoads fan, which makes him a huge fan of Grover. I follow Sully on FB he's a funny kat.

Nice. They're way too pricey for me sadly.

Post up when you get it. I talked to one guy who played a few and he said they play VERY nice with capital letters whatever that means.

+1

Was trying to get to one of his classes, but no go. An online friend has one of his guitars and says it's outstanding

I would love to do the full build class with him and egnaters amp class. I think it would be awesome to be able to build a guitar or amp.

I have to say that Raven certainly peaks my interest and I like the headstock quite a bit.

Agreed I would love to do both of those classes. Guitar Acquisition Syndrome at its finest.

Sully is "keeping it real" defined. He lives & breathes it. I've never come across the same type of enthusiasm he has ALL THE TIME, and he's also a great human being. I think his designs are great - super updates of the classics.

He grew up around where I work. I figured that when I saw the Chicago flag guitar.

I watched a bunch of his videos and he seems like a cool dude.

Sully is a great guy as well. I know a few people who have them and speak VERY highly of his work. You won't be disappointed if you get you hand on one. He's on FB too ;)

Sully is awesome - he keeps you updated at every step of the build.

Here's where mine is now -

Hi everyone!

I found this thread while looking at website analytics (yeah, I know, it's the edgy way to start your Sunday) and thought I'd say hello.

Thanks so much for the kind words, it's really appreciated. FWIW, I totally get the headstock thing and I'm the same way. I do my best to have something that works for everyone, but I know it doesn't always work that way (which is all good).

The Grover project has been really cool, and it's not unlike working in Santa's workshop. There definitely have been some "holycrapican'tbelieveit" moments. We're doing a batch of 15 to go to various dealers, and it's been quite an experience. Here's a recent shot of three of the guitars in the paint process:

They'll get sealer coats and then their various candy coats to get the finalized finish.

These have the 3/3 Aero headstock, which you can see an example of here:

Anyway, thanks again for the kind words, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Sully
