Man, this forum has really dried up over the last few years. People used to get excited about this stuff and we would have a few people on site reporting back with photos or reviews. Not one post this year.. not much to get excited about??

Summer Namm has never drawn much hoopla, at least as mich as winter Namm. A lot of premium venders dont even go anymore. Bogner, KSR, Do they even go? Plus, these companies absolutely market stuff terribly. Case in point Schecter and Peavey. Particularly the Merrow axes and the Peavey Invective. Both keep getting pushed back and pushed back, until all the hype is gone.

Yeah, I miss the days when a new product would be announced, everyone would get excited, and then it'd show up at the local store a couple of weeks later. Now, it's months if not years and all the excitement's gone, if I even remember what was supposed to be coming out. It's as bad a Christmas decorations in stores in July.

I'm not sure, but I think EVH was using the H910 as early as 5150.

3rd Power has some cool new stuff. The Kitchen Sink sounds amazing.

I used to soak up everything about NAMM, reading all the forums, but these days I´ve more or less given up hope on really cool stuff.

As for EVH, the 910 was all over 1984 and was used more sparingly on a few albums before that too. The H3000 turned up on F.U.C.K.

Agreed but kind of expected.

Regarding the NAMM part, I remember seeing people talk about it and posting all the threads. The manufacturers and some of the artists, I can't speak for them but it's so old now the NAMM gig. I am sure they get tired of the same old same old plus the cost to go for the builders vs the rate of return is probably just not worth it.

TBH it was cool to see all the new stuff but now it is just like whatever for me. Half the time you see something now and it doesn't even come out until the next NAMM.

It is probably like an annual groundhogs day to most of those guys after so many years and if a lot of the builders aren't going anymore that says something to me.

I haven't been following much but on the plus side of things I was able to pre order this:

You know its bad when there's no new Zakk or Lynch products shown at NAMM. lulz.

That Charvel 88 tribute is very cool, a very minor nitpick is that they could've used the right body shape but other than that I like it a lot.

Agreed, the cutaway was much cooler looking on the original. Not sure why the new one is so much deeper. I also noticed the head stock and logo are a bit different. Again, better on the original.

But the better bridge/lock system and pickup on the new one (imo) is pretty awesome. Still going to be an awesome guitar I feel. Will see soon enough but yeah, would have been cool if they made the exact body shape as the original.

I agree with the above, Summer Namm just never seems as big. My own feeling is that I am less interested in playing guitar in the Summer than I am in the Fall, Winter and early Spring. Maybe it’s just the weather and wanting to get out more, I can’t really put my finger on it. I still play in the Summer and still do things in the studio, just not as “into it” as I am in other seasons.

So essentially the 3rd power 3 in 1 amp is a fancy Egnater Tweaker! ;) Does sound awesome though.
