Gig last night was fantastic. The tour support Bill Steers (of Carcass fame) band Gentlemens Pistols were really rocking! Bill was using a '69 plexi, it sounded glorious especially mixed with the singer/guitarists JTM45. Really nice guy to chat to aswell, chatted about Carcass, gear and general band stuff.

Onto The Sword. They played a great set, all the songs you would want to hear and they delivered big time on performance. To be honest the tone wasn't my kind of thing, too much pedal/fuzz distortion, but it did cut really well. Really nice guys to boot!

Love the Green Les Paul Custom, whats the story on it?

I think it is actually gun metal grey, just looks green in pics.

I've seen a couple pauls in that green colour so I'm not sure about the gun metal grey, could be wrong but Inverness Green keeps coming to mind

Bill Steer is one of my top 10 guitarists. Cool pics.

It's a blast to get to open for a hero or long respected player. I got to open for Link Wray just before he died and he even played through my '78 2203 for the night. I got to hear the guy who wrote Rumble play it through my amp. Fucking classic!

That Les Paul is a 68 Reissue Custom in Pelham Blue. BADASS.

They made them for about a year. The blue looks more green than blue, but that's the way the Pelham blue faded.

I've wanted one of those for a long time!

Your probably right about the Les Paul, looked grey on stage though, nothing like the pics ha ha.

Bill was great, hardly any gain though, which made his solos especially sound actually really cool as you can hear him squeezing all he could out of it.

It was a great night, and hopefully won't be my last opening for bands I love.

Wow, I blew my own mind today. I've known of the Sword for a few years and never went further than clips because I didn't care for the singer and I wasn't sure if they were just a drone band. I decided to get Age of Winters, give it a try, because from the Amazon clips it had the best tone to me of their three CD's.

JESUS CHRIS, IT'S AWESOME!

So much riffier than I thought it would be and the best part. He hardly sings   Just enough to break away from the instrumental feel. I was driving around today, windows down just cranking the shit out of it. Not a bad tune on the whole thing. It's like they dipped into my head and plucked out how I like to play guitar when tuning down. Unfortunately I don't care for what I've heard of Warp Riders but Age of Winters is the fucking Bomb!
