My favourite local classified listings go something like this:

“Marshall amp”
[bad photo of some Marshall so blurry you can’t even count the knobs on it]
“You know what this is! READY TO RAWK! NO trades!!”

Umm, no I don’t know what this is...

so many people try and sell big ticket items on ebay with zero effort put into the listing.

It’s funnier that you know exactly what the amp is and you’re here complaining about the listing.

This. Most C+ chasers know the ins/outs on each model, upgrade vs original etc etc. Either way he’s got that listed here even cheaper..just a few yrs ago I sold my 60 watter for a few hundred less.
That’s a good price for that amp.

Exactly - what difference does some verbose, BS story about how ‘it’s the best amp ever but excruciatingly needs to be moved because its just not being played like it deserves to be and needs to be passed on to someone who will be able to use it like it deserves’

maybe, but what trannies does it have? also, no picture of the back of the power transformer leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't like the grandiose explanations of the story of the amp but WOULD like more info and a half naked model posing with it.

The model helps with the sale. Hot brunette girl with 36DD and an a$$ to match.

Don't give me that "you know what it is" shit. thats a lot of cheese to be blowing on something without needing to know a few more things.

judging by the serial number, it was a mark IIc upgraded to a c+ then c++ or maybe c -> c++ all at once. we don't know. it matters to me if i'm paying 3 grand.
when was the upgrade done? when was it serviced last? what number trannys? can i see more than 2 pictures? any paper work from boogie? upgrade/service invoices? footswitch?
idk. some aging metallica fan will buy it without question, and then bother Mike Bendinelli for all the answers on the phone.

this is just the way ebay is these days. i see it with gibson les paul auctions constantly. 2k guitar, "plays great... you pay shipping" </end listing>

Well, eBay does allow you to ask questions. Would I put more in the description? Sure. But a sentence or two describing it wouldn’t preclude me from buying it.

Do not sell to this guy

All kidding aside, a few extra pictures couldn't hurt but yeah. You could just ask the guy. I have sold a few items, nothing extravagant but from my experiences the people who ask 10,000,000 questions are the people who never intended to buy it in the first place or will hassle you after they get it.

Exactly how much does it weigh? This is "Rig Talk" after all, where we know about amps pretty much. Would I describe a Dumble?

I have the amp listed everywhere, eBay, Reverb, 7 different CL's so if you really were looking to buy, you'd more than likely check those other sites as well. Tons of pictures are available and I'm willing to talk in detail to anyone who wishes to hear any other detail. What do you want? You can ask right here, right now, but I'm certain you're not looking to buy the amp or you would've reached out as others have already. I'm just sitting around lol!!

Lol - in a way, i appreciate the oppty to further evaluate a seller, based on how responsive and effective they are in responding to questions.

All kidding aside, though, I would be more worried with such a sparse listing than if there was a better described item.

Ssssssold!!!!! And he didn’t even ask me how much it weighed, he actually didn’t ask anything.

I had my Splawn on Reverb with 3 very detailed paragraphs, and got nothing but stupid questions. Plenty of pictures. Does it have a loop? Clearly in pictures. Does it have a clean channel? No, it's clearly listed as a single channel amp. How old are the tubes? Brand new JJ E34L's clearly in the listing. Do you have more pics? I had 6, all angles, back on, back off, etc. Personally, people that ask a million questions are red flags for me, as those are the nitpicky assholes that file "not as described" claims because they don't know what they're buying, and don't like it. Do your homework!

As far as this Mesa, I could see asking some questions, but goddamn, some of you want to know what brand solder was used. People are so obsessed with owning a masterpiece, it's resale value, and probably won't even play the damn thing.
