Just finished up another amp mod/rebuild for Josh Middleton from SYLOSIS, and he will be taking both of his Gower modded Marshalls on their North American tour with Lamb Of God/In Flames/HateBreed/HellYeah over the next two months.

If you want to hear some brutal metal and high-gain modded Marshall mayhem, then make sure you grab a ticket for their shows if they're playing local to you, this tour is going to kick ass.

Here's a pic of the two modded Marshalls yesterday when we were doing a test run-through with them over here at my place. They both sound brutal. The 800 i modified last year, it's a variation of the Cali Mod circuit. The new SYLOSIS album 'Monolith' was recorded with this amp on every track as the main heavy tone.

The JMP below it is a full rebuild, with a new mod custom designed for Josh. It's similar to the Killer Kali Mod, but thicker and darker sounding.. It's like a giant wall of tone hitting you when you're infront of it.

I'm not huge on these guys, but I might buy a ticket to the S.F. show in December to check out a fellow rig-talker's work.

I love Sylosis. Saw them last year here in Oh and they are just as good live as their recorded material. Great band. I hear old school metal influences as well as newer, yet they've forged their own sound.

Hey nice tone man!!! Very Dark like you said, but the clarity is unreal. Just checked out the Monolith song. Killer Dark Tone for any kind of Sludge/Doom. Id like to hear this tuned a little higher.

i think this is where willie and mark from LOG will have their tonal eyes opened and start down this ridiculous path!

Wasnt half bad on the last album (mark V I think), not sure if I liked the inconsistency. I only listened briefly as LOG progressed I drifted away but it almost sounded as if each song had its own tone/settings.

I really miss the Raw sounding days, but I wouldnt mind seeing them start running with Mike Randall I mean Fortin or something Huge like that.

willie used the a mark v

from what i gather, mark is into exploring more tonal options and recorded with his mark iv, V, and later in the process the Royal Atlantic...which to me, the way he has it set in the vids i've seen, sounds thin and kind of sterile across the eq spectrum, which, may or may not be how it translates on film/compression, etc. blah blah.

:D I hope so!

That's awesome Dan. Sylosis are one of the best 'new' bands out there at the moment, their guitar player smokes!
