I'm looking for synthetic sounding preamp to run with the power amp section of my amps. Really crushing & warm sound, preferably with tube circuit, but will consider other options too. Imagine something like Uberschall on crack :)

Any suggestions?

Can't really help you with this but I'd think synthetic and warm are really opposite things. I dunno..

But it sounds like you're looking for something really crisp and "dead" (not in a bad way but meaning not soulful/expressive like blues amps).

I'd look for something with lots of tight distorion and a lot of compression but still keeping its note definition.

ENGL 570? Compression with note definition, still retains clarity at ultra gain

However, I never tried it through a good amps power amp section, only through a VHT 2502. I tried it with a Mesa Single Rectifier since I didn't want to haul my rig and it sounded like ass through his loop since it was a parallel loop

I've got an old Gainiac. You can have it for 50 bucks + shipping.
It sounds like garbage.

IMO the POD Big Bottom patch nails uber heavy industrial tones, huge low end and nails stuff like 80s Helmut.

heres a few more clips

The only ATM pedal I have is the California (which I Luv!) it sounds 100% exactly like the sounds clip on the AMT site. so I'm assuming the same with these "new 2008" amt pedals. I'm gassing for the SS10 myself.

This site said they'll be out soon - they have the AMT Freak Guitar Mattias Eklundh Pedal in stock - try those clips , thier in the same vain as the Army of Evil

I'll let you know if I find the Amry pedal anywhere !!

Yea man, I've already been on those sites.

P1 sounds pretty good too, but the one I really dug was Army of Evil. Clips have a little too much top end, but if they are "real" that can be fixed. I can imagine running that thing through a good tube power amp & miking it has to sound deadly good.

something from Rocktron maybe?

I just went through the samples on their website & didn't like them at all.

I don't mean new stuff.

The original Chameleon was downright industrial sounding if tweaked correctly. It had full parametric EQ for PRE and POST gain.

The Piranha is a tube pre, and it can sound industrial.
