Morning Cats...

So who's using what to throw down bass lines, synths, keys, brass and the like in their DIY music scene? I dig my SD2.0 for the skins, have been using a pitch shift for the bass lines on most of my tracks (with a touch of front/back delay to make it sound more human), and it's coming along... But I wanted to know if anyone out there has gone full bore and bought the "instruments package" like that of Kontakt/Reaktor, or Trilian for bass, you get the idea...

Thanks!
Mo

Native instruments Komplete 8 , make sure you buy Razor as well from them.
You and I think WAY to similarly, Reza... I've just been going through their online pitch to see what they have and it was between them (NI's Komplete 8), Reason's product (meh...to digi for me), and Strectrasonics Omnisphere (a bit too 'out there' for my needs).

I'll have to check this Razor biz out... Right now the package comes with some additional bonus to buy, but it's all over my head today. I'm sick as a mutt and still wearing my robe. I hate colds/flus

Omnisphere and Trilean is what I use mostly. I have an Access Virus synth here too, Sample Logic AIR (which I wrote one of the demo songs on their website) and orchestral strings sample libraries is what I use most

Keep 'em coming gents... At this point in time, it's a homerun for Komplete 8 as there's just oo much good stuff not to want at that price. Trilian is awesome, but it's too expensive for what it is (IMHO). And Omnishpere is $50 more than Komplete. Considering I'm going ground up, I don't need a lot of bells and whistles... (as he says laughing at himself   )

Peace,
Mojo

Yeah Omnisphere and trilean aren't super cheap, but astmosphere is stinking amazing, I have yet to really hear a soft synth that has the depth and sound that it has, some really cool stuff. Trillean was a no brainer for me cause I already had Trilogy, so it was a very cheap upgrade (actually free) I haven't tried the complete, but I do have the kontact sampler and run that with other stuff. what type of sounds are you looking for?

Everything BUT guitar

As mentioned, I'm super happy with SD2.0 for drums, but I need more - everything - my directions are going with samples of voice, good sounding synths, definitely bass lines, pedals, grooves, and analog sounds...bass is what's got me here, as there's little out there that's JUST bass, aside from Trilian, but with its pricetag, may as well go full bore and get a package. Looking into the packages that I have, I'm seeing a lot of stuff that would be uber useful that's 'not just bass guitar and bass lines'. So ya, syths, vox, samples of everything, and if the drums are good, hey, no sweat, I'll pull them together along with SD2.0

Cheers

I am a Spectrosonics fanboi, I have RMX and tons of expansions for drum loops and even some synthy sounds, and samples, omnisphere is the synth that gets used mostly from me, I use it tons, it has a good variety of everything, even acoustic piano, though slightly effected, but rhodes and all of those sounds are in there as well, great unique acoustic sounds as well as killer synths. omnisphere incluedes most of trillean anyway, just trillean takes it a step further. I have demoed lots and omnisphere is just a beast of a synth, the sound is so good, where as most soft synths can sound somewhat flat to me....

I love SD2, it is what gets used the most for acoustic drums for me, but also really like oceanway drums, sounds acoustically better, just not as functional. I have goliath, storm drum (which is heavy percussion sounds etc), east west platinum orchestra, RA (ethnic sounds), east west has a lot of great acoustic libraries, I just don't like their play engine, uses to much computer resource, at least on pro tools for me. Ivory for pianos... Symphobia for more orchestral sounds. Check out some of sample logics stuff, very unique sounding synths, def heavy on the sound design aspect...http://www.samplelogic.com/
