The song is hard enough to play. To sing at the same time?
Blows me away. Wait, that's Tornado of Souls. Ha.
Anyway, I think Rust In Peace might be the best thrash metal album there is.
This song is definitely a clinic in thrash

He's preformed this as a instrumental and that was cool too. Rust IS the apex assault. Blood in the water was in his home town, great show!!
Blood In The Water, I'm going to have to watch that whole show. I'd like to hear the instrumental version.
Here is live in 1990. I think they're playing it even faster? Blows my mind. My wrist hurts just playing air guitar to this.
24:52 mark.

RIP is my fav Megadeth album
tornado, five magics, take no prisoners, hanger 18, holy wars....all of it
Same man! I had a Charvette, a little Peavey Audition 30 and this tab book when I was 17. I'd sit for hours trying to play this stuff.
I had better luck with the Black Sabbath stuff. lol

His vocals are more focused and overall performance, not really a fan of the tone, obviously not real amps. Too bad as this show would completely cave in your forehead lol

When you play and write something, it's always easier. To learn it is always 10x harder. I guess it's because your brain sees it as "easy" because you wrote it...so you don't hear the difficulty in your brain.

True that. I've written some finger-picking tunes that I sing over, that would be somewhat difficult just to learn the guitar part to.
But this is on a whole other level, like insane. No wonder he ended up doing stuff like Countdown, Youthanasia, Angry Again. lol
I can't imagine doing this every other night for several months.

Man that video is from 2009. The 2010’s were a ROUGH decade on Dave. It’s like he aged 30 years in 10.

RIP is such an amazing album. It’s crazy how the songs have riffs upon riffs upon riffs yet each one is highly identifiable and memorable (and kick ass). A lot of bands deliberately try to be complicated and use nonstandard structures and pile on riffs and just end up with albums where you can’t tell one song from the rest.

I can't even walk and chew gum at the same time or I'll just fall over. Can't imagine me being able to play and sing simultaneously.

I forget the name of the tour... the one where they played Rust in Piece album from start to finish. That has to be the best Megadeth show I've been to. They were on point. It's amazing to watch Dave play all those riffs plus sing and make it all look so effortless.

Even Muhammed Suiçmez from Necrophagist (at one time considered the apex in technical death metal) commented how impressive Mustaine's playing/singing synchronization was.

John Gallagher is a monster.

I can't play and sing, never tried but I would imagine these guys learned guitar while singing so it's like 2nd nature to them maybe.

I think it’s true about it being a lot easier if it’s a song you wrote yourself, but yeah it must take serious practice to pull of what Gallagher does, time I can’t put in anymore lol

It's the tapping while singing that he does that gets me. I think a lot of singers/guitarists match their vocals with their right hand. When the two are doing completely different things it's just hard for me to comprehend.

Amazing.

Polaris, the song, is just ridiculously hard to play. I cant fucking imagine singing that while playing. Just nuts.

Dave has talent.

Those are exceptional but Lucretia is my favorite.

He’s one of the most talented metal songwriter, player and performers when he is “on”. So glad Metallica fired him!!
