I know this has been discussed here before, but would like input from owners as i dont know anybody with one for me to try.
How does it sound used as a pre amp going to a power amp and 4x12 or is it a better studio tool? does it soud good at low and high volume?
Any input would help i'm gasing for one but dont want to jump on something not for me.

30 day return is your friend. Only costs you about $30 shipping to return it UPS ground.

It rules in the studio- really exceeds all expectations
As a "live" amp, I only tried a few times & wasn't as thrilled, but there's enough people using it that way with success that makes me think I need to keep tweaking

I've been super happy with it for recording and live use. No complaints here. You need to check one out for yourself though - I'd post on here or the gear page that you're considering a purchase and see if anyone in your area has one they will show you. If you lived in my area I'd be glad to do that, I'm sure others would too.

Just buy it. Why wouldn't you? Better than sitting here pondering. Just buy the fekker and if you like it, yay, if not, sell.

Great sounding unit for live BUT be prepared for the lag (dropout) when changing presets/rigs.
I'm using a Behringer FCB and a RJM Mastermind with the same results.

There's a thread on the Kemper forum about it with many of the others having the same issue.
Christoph Kemper hasn't bothered responding so make of that what you will.

Like the FAS forum and its owner expect sort of the the same over at Kemper.
It's amazing how intelligent and inventive their owners/creators are but they haven't a clue re customer support and response. Fucking amazing it is.

I would suggest playing a tube amp and wait for these guys to sort their half baked products out and learn to listen and respond to their paying customer base.

Oh yeah, fuck the fanbois too!

Pete,

Are you seeing lag between selecting presets? Do you go from a recto profile for the riff and a Mark profile for the lead with no lag?

Amps can have a little lag or pop. How is the Kemper?

If you're hopping on that bandwagon, do us a favor and take some oil with you. It's gotten rather loud as of late.

Cliff always responds on the Fractal forum. Many times within minutes of someone posting some problem. I don't know where you get your info from

Things must have improved since I had my Axe FX. Let's not forget the attacking you get suggesting the Axe is less than life saving on FAS and TGP.

Any discussions regarding Fractal turn ugly = fact.

There's definitely some "whiny bitchism's" going on with FAS. It's just part of the neighborhood. A bunch of grown men with brown lipstick on, pandering the powers that be. All bullshit aside, dynamite product the A2 is, for sure. But cutting edge does come with its quirks for sure, none the least of which is a sensitive and infantile corporate demeanor which does not and can not tolerate creative criticism.

I'm getting the KPA too, just so I can STFU about either unit doing this or that, and just play guitar. But I'm going for the 3U unit when it comes out over the toaster format. Just easier on the eyes and I like racking my shit.

The Kemper has no lag switching between presets.. this is an artifact of your midi controller and can be fixed.

Fact based answers are so great.

Thanks

Definitely should consider the axefx. Now cliff is using some MIMIC technique that resembles profiling but is better and is capturing the fine nuance of various circuits in an amp and fixes cliff's original flaws that were more than real 15 versions ago. Kemper can can at absolute best only sound real, not realer.

Well, with this new awesome technology, it can do a extraordinarily uninspiring EVH tone and tone match a God awful soundng bassman that was zappa's. No reason to choose a Kemper when you can have a shit sounding bassman and boring EVH tone.

That does not seem quite heartfelt and sincere....

Notwithstanding the value of the shit sounding bassman

No lag when switching presets BUT there is a glide in effect that I hear on anything with gain.

Okay let's go with the above instead of dropout, so how can this be corrected because the glide is looonnnggg (slow)

For the record it happens using the RJM Mastermind and Uno equipped Behringer FCB.
Yes, different brands and length midi cables were used.

Not sure but there are threads about it on the Kemper forum. I guess guys are waiting for a fix or the new performance mode to sort it out.
