Like I mentioned they're not quite there yet for live playing like an amp.

They're on the way but not there as you would expect of an amp.

Not to start an argument and I have owned both but I believe the Kemper to sound and FEEL more like a tube amp than the Axe.

I wish the Kemper had the effects of the Axe.

I could not live with switching lag, this is a deal breaker for me.

I had the pleasure of playing the Kemper while in Tuscon last May and the preset tones through a small powered speaker were unreal. You really are inspired to play in the style of the artist/amp simulated. The shop Rainbow Guitars in Tuscon are really cool and the best one in Arizona, pity I live in Phoenix!!
It was simple to operate and the weirdest guitar/pickup combinations were successful in really inspiring one to play your best.
I loved it.
Haven't tried any Fractal products as they just don't carry that sort of item where I live. I sense the Kemper is more user friendly and as I said the salesman left it with me after a 2 minute demo and didn't feel like an idiot..
I'm sure the Axe FX is a piece of cake compared to my Korg Triple Digital delay SDE-3300, that is like a NASA unit to me
Liked the Kemper and it looks like an old piece of electronics test equipment from back in my first career tech days!
These two are apples and oranges though.

It's not really a switching lag as it changes instantly. It's more of a morphing thing to get the correct gain level but it's only milliseconds. I think if you switch between 2 rigs that use the same type of amp/cab setup, it's faster.

The Kemper has no lag switching between presets.. this is an artifact of your midi controller and can be fixed.

Fact based answers are so great.

Thanks

Sorry, just saw this - I haven't had any lag issues with a ground control pro. Other guitarist in one of my bands bought a kemper, is using one of those small paint spattered ART boards, no delays for him either.

Thanks for the replys and fellings on this thing i think i need to find someone near me with to try it out thanks again

what the hell is wrong with people? how in gods name does this thread turn into a complete FAS and cliff fest thread???? This is getting borderline insane, its absolutely fucking ridiculous, and vice versa as well. People just can't help themselves can they? I wonder how some people function in the real world...

The Kemper kicks ass, 30 day return policy....buy it..../thread

I will say I've had mine 2 days, but so far I'm not huge on it....but I'm still learning how to use it. None of the stock hi-gain presets are that great :(

I'm also tech retarded.....I seriously have a hard time learning how to use these type of things. I'm way more into having an actual amp/cab so far at this point.

Yeah. The stock hi gain rigs are AWFUL! I felt the exact same way. There are some absolutely incredible free rigs on the Kemper page though. Keith Merrow's 5150 Red profile is absolutely killer. I still use it way more than the Amp Factory rigs that I purchased. I highly recommend checking it out.

Owned both the Axe II and the Kemper... for the studio the Kemper wins hands down... for live the Axe is still king...
