I'm seriously thinking about nabbing a custom shop Parker MaxxFly 7 string in tangerine. The price tag is a little heavy so I would like the communities input before pulling the trigger.

Have you guys had any issues with Parker? Anyone order a CS guitar and have it arrive excessively late or worse yet, with problems?

BTW the maxxfly is the one without the annoying upper horn.

Don't do it. It's ugly. If you get it, you're a poser........... =p

Thats exactly what it would look like. Still ugly? :p

my issue is they are ugly so if that is good enough to talk you out of then so be it ;)

If you like it just buy it...beauty is in the eye of the beholder

love my fly deluxe, it's old, starting to get beat up, still plays like new.

If you want to sit at the cool kids table then you wouldn't buy one... And then smoke a cigarette...

I'm a traditional guitar style guy and I think that orange one in the pic looks awesome.

I like 'em. Ugly as fuck of course, but they play like a dream.

Do it they are some of the coolest nicest playing and versatile guitars ever made. Have a USA pre-washburn deluxe hard tail and it is a dream to play. And hell weighs a 1/3 of what my LP Std's do. Oh yeah and SS frets. Love that. Pickups in mine are weak as shit though.

Do they still glue the frets on? If so, don't spend the money. I was a really into Parkers before the Washburn buyout. I had guitars losing frets because the glue would deteriorate. Maybe Washburn fixed these issues? I loved the way the played not they way they sounded.

I emailed them and it was an issue in 2009 and 2011 iirc. They claim they fixed it.

Mine were all built in the late 90's. 2 of the 3 I had, had frets fall off. Seems like an ongoing problem.

To me a Parker NEEDS the horn. I had a 97 Fly Deluxe great guitar, I have hand issues and couldn't deal with the super super thin neck....but the 4.5 pound weight was great on the bad back. I can't win.

Go for it.

I have two late 90's Parkers (Nitefly and a Classic), never had an issue with either of them.

Once i get it, you should come down to Vancouver and give it a go. Feel free to bring along one of your 8 million Diezels haha :D

I've seen a few parkers with broken headstocks. besides that and the aforementioned fret issues, they're fantastic guitars. +1 if you need a lightweight guitar.
