So I've been trying different acoustics including Larivee, Martin and Taylor and I fell in love with a 214 E.
It was the best playing and sounding guitar.

Anybody knows anything about those? The price is nice @ ~800$

Should I try more models in the same price range? If yes, what models?

I have a Taylor, GREAT guitar!
I didn't buy it locally, because the prices are way too inflated and the choice isn't there.
I'd check out a 300 series or higher, those ones are made in the USA and are real wood.
Anything under is mexican I think and veneer :(

I spent about 20 min. with my salesman @ Wildwood guitars and got the scoop ;)

I agree. Spend the extra money and go with a 300 series. I've had my 312-CE for over 10 years now and I play it every day. I absolutely love this guitar. The concert series body is so comfortable to play and it sounds incredible. If you get one, just remember to keep it humidified so it will last a long time and sound great every time you pick it up.

Thanks guys, I sure don't have 2 grand to put on an acoustic but I'll check them out.

I got my 414ce about a year ago and it's such a GREAT guitar!

TOTALLY agree with the above statements about not going below the 300 series. For what it's worth......I saw my same guitar all over town for about $2000, and when it came to actually buying it, I went to 2 different stores with $1600 and had both of them fighting for my sale (funny how I couldn't get it below $1850 when I didn't have the cash)

If you want you can try mine Phil.
Mine was 1799$ at Italmelodie, but i got it at Wildwood for 1300$, and even with duty it was still over 200$ less than here.

I've got a Taylor 814 CE and absolutely love it!!! Anything below the 300 series has laminate which I think dampens some of the resonance. But, if you played one and liked it...go for it.

Checkout a Tacoma or Seagull. I have a Tacoma JK50ce that I would stack up to any Taylor regardless of price. Tacoma's have a similar feel to the neck, since they are both a "bolt on" neck. Seagull's are a good value too.

I got my 410CE at guitar center for $900 used. I highly recommend it if you can find a used one. It has the older style electronics, which I don't really care for, but for the money you can't beat it.
