I purchased a TC controller for my 2290 delay, and I'm thinking I'd like to use it also use it with a Kemper/Eleven Rack/ Axe - whichever I decide to buy. The TC controller doesn't have a MIDI out, but there's a port to add one. Have any of you ever used a MIDI equipped controller like this with your gear?

Note: The TC controller lets me control the effects loops on the 2290. From what I understand, this cannot be done using other MIDI controllers... Why, I haven't a clue?

Here's the one I have...

Hi,

The TC controller is pretty limited, it arrived at the "early dawn" of MIDI.

You can use another another MIDI controller to do the effects loops BUT it has to be able to do custom MIDI SYSEX messages, which is a bit of a PITA. Possible though and I have done it, but I speak HEX MIDI.

These days I use a, ahem, Behringer FCB which is/was the best value out there despite the bad rep that brand gets. You can get software programmers for it which helps a lot as doing it on the unit itself is tough.

Nice rack by the way!

I know the 2290 is an ancient delay, but it's the best delay I've ever owned. I love analog and tape delays, but those seem to get lost in the mix the more you jack the volume. I want to be able to take advantage of the 5 x loops in the 2290 with a Kemper, so I need a controller that will basically do it all.

Yes you are correct.

The TC is the best delay ever I agree 100%. The sound is just beautiful.

Your going to need a more advance controller and a bit of head scratching, but you'll get there.

It will be a sweet combo those two units (Kemp and TC)
