Ok, so I've been using a G-System now for about 7yrs... and have dealt with all the bugs and worked everything out by using a buffer and balanced mogami cables. I'm pretty happy with the results, but see that TC has just released a new modified version, the "G-System iB Modified" that addresses the shortcomings of the G's input buffer.

As per the TC site: "Therefore, we teamed up with ProGuitarShop and set out to collaborate with Massimo Mantovani(Italian modder) to develop the ultimate input buffer modification. By changing the analog input design as well as a number of components, a super transparent tone that offers loads of punch and a snappier response has been created for you "
You guys can see more here: http://www.tcelectronic.com/g-system-ib-modified.asp

My question is: Is there someone here in the U.S. that I can have modify my G-System to this upgraded input buffer?
I see Dave Friedman uses the G-System from time to time for pro rigs... wondering if he does this mod.

What do you guys think?

You will find more G System hate than anything on the forums. Few have taken the time to get past it's shortcomings like you have. No offense to them, for some rigs it takes more work than others and for some rigs it may not ever work as well as somebody would like.

I love the concept behind the G System and find it makes a great center point to any rig if you get it working like you want it to. I would thank Dave Friedman, LASD or anybody that makes a good buffer could possibly get in there and sort things out for your system. The problem is I do not believe there is any one mod that is going to make things work for every scenario. What you are doing is best and that is having them do one specific for you and your system.

Another option is use a line mixer for the back end of the effects and a loop switcher that has a great buffer for the front end. You still get everything out of the G System you do today, you just would gain 4 more loops and get a good buffer. The effects you would lose could be added in pedal form for a compressor and filter if you use those.

Lots of options and I have deducted even if one used the post fx, the amp switching and the MIDI board it is worth the price alone. Everything else that one can use to their benefit they are just adding to their savings.

If you find out about anybody in the US that will work with you on your setup and a buffer solution let me know please, I would be very interested.
