I've been really thinking hard about moving up in the effects world! I always have just used pedals out front of my amp and I am wanting to move towards setting up and using presets. I think the Nova System would be perfect to start out on this adventure.

I honestly dont use many effects, delays for certain parts and leads as well as some phase here and there. I look forward to being able to use some reverb and chorus. The G switch looks cool too. I couldnt see myself having a lot of presets at all so being able to switch between 3 sounds good to me.

What are some pros and cons of the Nova system? IS it pretty simple and easy to use?

i would say it's pretty straight forward, heard some pretty good things about it, as well as the g system, it is essentially a multi effect unit with presets as well as stompbox mode from what i've understood, with quality tc effects

i tried out a rack effects unit, with a behringer FCB switching system, sounds were decent, and hitting presets for clean+reverb ... clean+delay etc.. was pretty neat, but i'm a compulsive tweaker =0 miss having the knobs/pedals out front, so i'll be selling that stuff off soon i think

so if you only use 3-4 diff tones/presets it's a good device, i'm an avid user of the M9 =0 which has a stupid amount of effects on tap and easy to use

It's a very powerful little unit, and for that price there really aren't better options in my opinion.

I have had mine for a few weeks now, and I am really liking it. 3 presets are enough for me as I never use more than that in a song.
A great little feature is that you can still toggle the delay, boost and modulation even if
You are in preset mode.

Highly recommended.

Great unit, tons of flexibility and top notch fx. Very transparent and easy to program. I don't use the gain function (I'm running line level through the loop), but have heard good things.

I've had one for almost a year now & love it. Once you get the hang of it it's fairly easy to program. The effects are excellent & if you hook an expression pedal into it you can get a ton more out of it (like whammy effects, etc.). I like to use the expression pedal to control delay levels so if you hit a lead you can kick the boost in & roll in a little more delay to fatten things up. The overdrive in it isn't that great but I don't use it anyways, just run it in the effects loop & use the distortion on the amp. Can't really think of anything on the negative side. Very cool unit!

I use mine in the loop. I think it's a great unit for the money. I can't complain at all. Im a bed room wanker for the most part, and it's been solid for about 3 years or so.

I dig my Nova System; I had one sold it, got the M9 for about 9 months, sold it, got another Nova System. I dig the Nova System enough that I got the G-System too. I was (still am) using the Nova Drive as my main OD/Dist too. The NS OD/Dist is similar to the Nova Drive, except you can't run both OD/Dist in the NS like you can with the ND; also, the ND's OD has a Mix control the NS doesn't, it is a fixed mix of your Dry and OD signal. I also have the G-Switch to change presets, which let's me run the NS in pedalboard or what they call "stomp" mode.

I run mine in front of a clean/edge Fender tube amp, or into my FRFR using the speaker sim (good, but not great...could be a backup direct to FOH)

A few people have had trouble getting the input gain and left / right output set. The manual isn't the best, it is easy to miss important information; I make sure to have the manual whenever I tweak things if it has been awhile. The Boost is a bit different, so
be sure to read the manual a few times (then read it again!) I had to!

The routing is fixed as well, however you can run the Mod, Pitch, Delay and Reverb in serial, semi parallel (Delay and Reverb are parallel) or Parallel.

All in all, I'm very happy with mine. YMMV. If you look around you can find them new for less than MF, GC, etc. are selling them for. ;)

I just picked one up and it's great, I don't use the distortion but I gotta say it's actually pretty damn good, the drive section is totally analog so you really don't have to use a boost pedal. I've already got an original rocket fuel and a timmy, so I just don't use the drive section anyways though I do go through the drive input since I run it out front of the amp, the delays are great, as well as all the effects and honestly I figured it out pretty damn quick. The only thing that took more than 30 seconds to figure out was setting the input gain, there's a little bug with it, in that sometimes it shows it's clipping when it's not while your setting it, so after I found that out I just mostly ignored the display and went with my ears. Killer unit and the dynamic delay is awesome for running infront of an amp thats got moderate gate and running a boost before hand.
