what more does it have to offer over a g-major II?

larger user banks, or is it just chocked full of wierd effects? is it supposed to be tonally better with a higher bit-rate or faster sampling?

Better quality effects and can run more of them at one time with no signal or tone loss. More tweakable options for each effect. I bought the G major returned it and got the G force. I love it.

FWIW I just upgraded from a G-major to a G-major 2 and am very happy with it. The G-force and G-major use the same processor I believe??

I researched this a little and I heard the only real reasons to use the G-force over a G-major is if you want to run multiple modulation effects at once like chorus AND phaser and/or if you want to be able to place a certain effect anywhere in the chain.

Just what I've heard I've never played one

I had both the G-Force and the Major II. They sounded pretty much the same for me for what I used them for. I thought the G-force was a little easier to navigate. Build quality was better on the G-force too. Just felt sturdier. The Majors are made in Asia. Given the price differential new, I'd just stick with the Major.

For me the G Force was/is a step above the G System and G Major I or II. The G Force may have the same chips and whatever but tonally it was night and day for me. The delays sound thicker and the phase and other modulation was/is usable in the G Force over the other two. The ability to route effects like in the Axe FX is a big plus if you are into that type of stuff.

Others have stated the G Major sounds about the same. I am not saying I am right and they are wrong as they may be much better at programming these units than me. But for me the tonal qualities of the FX and the editing abilities are way beyond with the G Force. It is right there with the Eventide and Axe FX for quality. (Minus the pitch shifting).

The G Force has superior AD/DA converters over the G Major.

I noticed a weird rapid fluttering sound while recording higher gain lower register notes last night. I started turning off individual pieces of gear to isolate the problem. It turned out to be the delay in my G-Force...just the delay. Strange because the reverb and other FXs don't have the same issue.

same processors?

ill be using a boss gt-pro for pitch shifting/harmonizing. i like the way they sound over eventides and also from what i can hear from the axe-fx.

the delays seem better in the g-force? thats a clear winner for me IMHO - the TC delay would be the main reason i would own one. ill be using a lexicon unit for reverbs, but i do like TC's reverbs too.

id rather get away with a gm-II, i owned a g-m for years but the complexity of the menus and the tone sucking if you dont keep your levels straight is what really sucks with that unit. i sold it, and wont go back at all. the final nail in the coffin was the patch changing delay being almost a full second.

they may use the same processors but im sure the algorithms are probably more complex in the g-force? i dont think it would all be the same. i liked the TC delay and reverbs, i cant imagine them getting any better.

any other testimonies would be nice - im torn either way - price vs. tone/routing/navigation.
