This is actually a really nice and compact rig that just requires you to connect to the FOH using an XLR cable. Tech 21 also says you can have another IR loader after the inbuilt speaker simulator. Alternatively, you could feed a cab on stage (by adding a portable power amp).
I was quite happy with the sound, it sounded really good in mono as well when run through my studio monitors. I just hooked up directly to my interface and added an IR cabinet in my DAW. It just sounded louder (and therefore more metal!) though I will note that I did not dime the level or boost.
Small and lightweight, it's probably great for travel gigs or when you need to just grab something and go.
