so i'm basically done wiring my Seymour Duncan JB/Hot Rails combo into my Caparison Horus but when i tap on the pickups i get no sound.

i followed this wiring diagram pretty much exactly:

the only difference is that i'm using a 250k pot AND the Horus has a flush mount output jack which may have me slightly confused.

since the flush mount jack has 3 terminals: 1 short leg, 1 longer leg, and 1 huge arm thing i *think* i figured it out that i only need the short leg and the huge arm. The short leg acts as a positive terminal so i wired that to the middle lug on the Volume pot and the huge arm terminal i wired to the volume pot to act as the ground.

i'm just stumped. am i doing something wrong

I mean no disrespect but your tapping with something metal right??

Did you try the longer leg of the output jack?

I have'nt had a panel mount jack for awhile but was thinking that as well...I think the inner shorter one is the tip but..I'm old and memory lapses and all....lol!!

yeah i've tried switching the legs around but still no luck

Reverse the ground and hot on your three-way switch. Most three way switches don't look like that, the ^ is usually between the two pickup lead lugs, just saying if it's EXACTLY like the pic that might be your problem, like wired on the sides the pic shows.

The ground is usually the solid side with no other lugs and the hot is the 2 lugs in the middle between the 2 pickup hot lead lugs soldered together along with the hot wire from the pot..He's right..the picture has it backwards...didn't notice that

nice catch guys! i'll try that out and let you know how it goes

alright, so this is how i currently have it wired and i'm still not getting any sound. i don't think i've ever had this much trouble installing pickups!!

Are the terminals of the pot touching the body and possible grounding out on shielding paint? I've seen pots sit in a routed out pocket and make contact with shielding paint and cause issues. You can usually remove the pot nut and raise it up a bit to see if it's making contact.
Same goes for the 3 way switch contacts.

hey jerry thanks for the suggestion!! i think there was some weird grounding issue going on with the jack but i finally got it squared away!!
thanks a bunch!
