Just "finished" putting this tele together. She's not done. I need a black guard and a real tele neck. The old Floyd cut strat neck with all I had at the house right now. The back story: This tele is a Fender Standard (MIM) Telecaster. It used to be wine red. The guitar went through a fire, and was badly damaged. The neck was a total loss, and the body was badly burned as well. I threw the neck away and went to work on the body with a sander. Getting rid of most of the damage resulted in a forearm cutaway... which I was cool with. I left some of the burned wood just because. The neck is an old Allparts neck I had in the office that went to a Floyd Rose strat that suffered a catastrophic trem failure. ;) (The stud posts buckled the wood around them). It is the only neck I have at the house. I'm watching a couple of MIM Tele necks on the bay at the moment.

The tuners are some old MIM strat machine heads that were in the parts drawer. The bridge pickup is also an MIM tele bridge that I had laying around. It actually sounds fantastic... so I have no plans to change it out. It gets a VERY early EVH type of growl! I bough a Wilkinson compensated Tele bridge to complete the guitar. I still need to get a black guard to finish up the guitar. Gonna go with an Esquire setup.

Here's a pics... She ain't pretty, but she plays great and sounds REALLY NICE! Very resonate and punchy!

so what you are saying is that guitar really burns :D

A fire was probably the best thing to happen to that guitar - hopefully it melted off the 1/4" thick poly finish. haha.

Looks cool man! What a beater!

I'd hit it.
Congrats on the partscaster bro. With a tele neck and pickguard, its really going to look awesome. It'll make a great workhorse!

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with it so far. Just need to finish it.

Gives a whole new meaning to the term "carved top" lol

Great work bro!

If you like the neck I have a LSR roller nut in a package still that comes with a piece of wood to retrofit this over the old style LSR nut that was about the same size as the Floyd. You might want to look into one of those if you want to keep the neck. It might look a little funky, but this is obviuosly not a big concern here. I dig the way a strat looks with a tele neck and a tele with a strat neck.

That guitar would get the stamp of approval from Billy Gibbons in it's current state. Lots O' mojo going on there.

Looks cool now. Way to bring that guitar back from the dead, most people would have thrown it out....

i think you should leave it as is... i think it looks awesome that way
