i'm rewiring my tele and trying to get it back up and running. I'm no electronics genius, so I'm having a little trouble.

The main issue is that every diagram i see has the 2 sc pickups with only 1 wire (usually red) and then the grounding bare wire.
Well, on my pickups I have a red wire, a white wire and the bare ground wire.
I'm not trying to wire anything whacky, just a standard 2 sc, 3 way switch, 1 vol, 1 tone.

here's the diagram I found easiest to follow....

i also have been looking at the diagram on guitar electronics....but they have the same thing. 1 wire 1 ground...

any help is appreciated!

one other question...
I am about to go to my local music shop and see if they have new pots @ 250k. If they don't I'm going to throw in some 500ks for the timing being. what sort of effect can i expect using these?
would it work better if I used the emg pots I have (they are 25K) i can't see that working well, but it's an option

thanks again!

anyone? I'm still stumped, I was hoping to have an answer by time I got home from all the shopping i had to do.

if you need any more info, i'll be glad to provide....just let me know what you need to know.
HALP!!!!!!!!!!!

You should be able to just pick one of the wires, (same color for both pickups) and wire it to the switch, and wire the other with the bare ground wire. As for the volume pots, don't use the 25k pot. The 250k pot is pretty standard for SC pups, but if you want a little extra spank, sizzle, and volume, go with the 500k pots. I personally love 500k pots with sc pups, but I like my sc's to be really really bright, especially in the neck position.

Hope this helps.

:) some of the single coil pickups will have the ground wire separate from the other two (insulated) wires so that you can change the phase of the pickups by simply switching the insulated wires

on others (particularly on the tele bridge pickup), to change the phase you have to clip the jumper on the bottom of the pickup and then ground the base plate.
