hmm...looks like they're back up and running

So, does it just look cool and sound like an old Marshall with an Attenuator

Does it have enough gain without pedals??

Maven Peal is not out of business, just in a different business. Dave doesn't build amps anymore because at the price-point and with the expensive components he was using it just wasn't worth his while. He took a break and is now back building his own line of pedals.

I bought a Howler pedal from him earlier in the year and he was a pleasure to deal with. BTW the Howler is a great little pedal too, it blends with my amps like no other pedal I own.

I've never heard anything but good things about Maven Peal amps, including the Ganesha. A friend of mine bought a second-hand one and said it was an amazing take on a Plexi. I didn't ever hear it in person though so I'm not sure about the acheivable level of gain.

I would consider buying one just to have the power section!!!!! Put a dummy load on your favorite hi-gainer head, slave it through the Ganesha and adjsut wattage down to 1W of output.

I don't know much about Maven Peal other then that there was always a whole lot of controversy surrounding them all the time. IIRC at the time they started promoting themselves on TGP, a disgruntled dealer / distributor also started posting and made a lot of claims of technical issues with their amps and other problems... the whole thing turned into a bizzare pissing match that played out for a few months. This was many years ago now.

I think Maven also went head to head with Kevin O'Conner many times with both parties laying claim to true power scaling or something like that.
