Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up trading my '07 Parker Fly Deluxe for one of these to a buddy of mine in the States. Any owners here? What can you tell me about them? For those who don't know, it's got a thinner body than a typical LP plus contouring and the coil tapping as stock, which are all awesome features in my book. It's got some changed parts (TP6 tailpiece, DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup) but he's got all the original parts too. I think it's a fair trade for my Deluxe (which is definitely in players shape.) What say you guys?

What do you want to know? They aren't very poplular, they never caught on...but I love them and have always wanted on. They sell for whatever the market will bring at the time. I've seen some go for nothing and others go for insane prices. I personally always wanted a pink or salmon one. The black is nice too. I think they had chromite, which is what I believe Gibson called balsa wood in some places. Very cool guitars.

I'm just curious if anyone was an owner or had any cool info, that's all. The one I'm getting is the sunset mist colour (the pink you describe.)

Yeah, I like the custom lite and would jump on that deal. They were called lite cause the body was thinner then a normal custom but were still mahogany, and they had no binding on rear body. One less tone knob I think and they had a coil tap, only made for two yrs 87-89. The balsa wood chromite wood ones were later on and were the studio lite, not the custom lite. The lp custom Axcess without floyd option is pretty much what the same as custom lite but with the different neck joint.

I'm sold. I've wanted a stoptail Axcess for a couple years, but never could justify the $3,000+ price tag.

Here is one I had 5 or 6 years ago, it was about 1/2 the thickness of a normal custom but felt and sounded great. Should have kept it.....

Yeah, I have been lookin for a black one for a while now. They are cool, and being that lp customs will no longer have ebony fretboards is even more a reason to snatch up the custom lite better now then later.

I owned one in the late 80s', this was the era of the Superstrat, Floyd Rose, dive bombs and when men had long hair. This was Gibsons' answer to the Superstrat because sales on LPs' had bottomed out, no one wanted a trditional LP. I much prefer the Classic LPs' FWIW.

Thanks for the info. I realize it's not gonna be exactly like a traditional LP, but being that I'm a superstrat guy and sold my last LP due to the weight/thickness - it's fairly appealing to me.

I owned two of them. A sunset mist color one which was a great guitar. The best LP I ever owned. I also had a goldtop which was terrible. Play it before you buy it. They were not consistent.

The one I'm getting is a sunset mist model. The owner is a buddy of mine. He says it's one of the good ones, and I tend to trust his opinion. The original owner played it quite a bit since the eighties apparently.
