Anyone have any experience with these rack units?

Seen some for cheap and want to give them a shot.

I'm sure some of you can chime in about it's GAIN tones. :D

It's awesome ,way under the radar and currently my new portable rig.

It was my go to unit for YEARS...ran it through a VHT 2150 power amp and 2 Marshall 4x12's and it was glorious. IMO, Rocktron offers by far the best bang for the buck in just about all of their products and programming is a piece of cake. I should also mention that the tech support is awesome, Jim Chowning is one of the founding members of Rocktron and has deen an invaluable source of help. Doesnt get any better than that...

I concur!!! and thanks for the mention of the voodu valve months ago. You are the reason why I started checking them out and when I finally had the chance to play one, I was sold.

I had one in the late 90s - kick ass tones can be had with it. You can easily tweak the presets into usable tones... Very cool unit, especially considering that people are basically giving them away now.

That was easy, its an epic cak

And also with you

I have had a few of the Chameleons. They got good gain sounds, but they definitely sound tight and clear. I could never really get that rumbling fuzzy type sound of it it like a 5150 or Recto.

But, they have a ton of flexibility with the pre and post EQ...

the factory presets are no indication of what the unit can do.

Yeah, one trick I used to get the most heavy tone out of I could, was to always use the speaker sim, and set it to full range. Then you can crank the reactance to get massive low end out of it.
