Terrible distorted sound From Torpedo Reload

Hello,

I get a distorted sound from the Torpedo Reload Reload output.
I connected the Reload out to my mixer.
And put a headphone into the mixer
I use a Fender de Ville 2x12 amp, pulled the speaker cable from the amp and plugged a speaker cable into the now empty speaker connection.
I plugged the other end of the speaker cable into the speaker-In from the Torpedo.
So no real speakers used.
The signal coming into the mixer is relatively low, but it sounds distorted.
And it stays distorted it doesn't matter how low i go on the amp with the volume (No master on the clean channel)
I tested 4 ohm and 8 ohm
I also tested a Dual Showman with the same result.(8 ohm used)
Any hints?
