Terrible noise and blue lightning..

I turned on my Mesa Mk1 last night, just to check a pedal.

Nothing was plugged into the amp, except for the speaker cord.

When turning on the power switch, everything seemed normal, but when I flipped the standby, there was a helluva noise, and I saw blue light on the wall behind the amp. I`m taking it to a tech asap, but have anyone seen something like this before?

I`ve had tubes go bad, but that`s either silenced the amp right away, or gradually. I`ve had fuses blow, and that also yields no sound. This was loud as hell, and didn`t sound good at all... Combined with the lights I saw from behind the amp, I`m kinda worried. I didn`t keep it on for more than a second or two, so I don`t know 100% if the light came from the tubes or something else. There was a funny smell, but no smoke.

You more then likely smoked a power tube and possible a screen grid resitor. No biggy!! Im sure your tech will have you up and running!!

BTW... done it many times throughout the years :D

:D Hope so, that`ll be a fairly easy and not too expensive fix.
