Test Clips: VH4, JCM800, Recto Rack

Hey folks, was goofing around with some test clips yesterday of these different amps so thought i'd throw them up if they're helpful to anyone else wanting to hear the differences.

Nice work man. All sound good, but with the Recto being at the bottom. I don't quite get these amps, there always seem to be better options both in person and listening to recordings. You have a favourite in the room?

I think the Recto and 800 would sound even better together. The VH4 isn't really my thing.

My favourite changes depending on the day at the moment haha.

Recto sounds the biggest overall. and Boosted 800 sounds great for getting that real aggressive cut going.

These clips were with the heads cranked through a torpedo live, using York Audio Mesa 4x12 with M160 mic.

I think the Recto and 800 would sound even better together. The VH4 isn't really my thing.

I'm playing around with some blending now. If you set the 800 to be more 'brown' then yes they would blend nicely.

The Vh4 is like a more refined and slightly more vintage Recto to me.

Vh4 is a more modern marshall and a less mordern recto. Sits somewhere in the middle.
