I have shipped numerous amps thru the years.
Sometimes I forgot to put the cord in...usually catch it after its gone or if the guy writes me.
I ship it to him ASAP.
But yes....the cord and footswitch should come with the amp. If your not going to include it please state so in the original sale add.

I can't tell you how many times I have taped up a box ready to ship and look next to the box to see it laying there Son of a Biscuit .... I usually will slice the bottom of the box open and slip it in and re-tape.

Agree that you should start a thread on tgp about it. I've been on there since 2003 and most ppl are decent there. They will back you up. I'd nothing else you will save other people from the same experience. Sounds like something voodoo would pull off. Though now he has someone else selling his stuff I believe.

Be gentle in your wording on tgp, quite the guy and you'll get Tons of support.

I bought a used Bogner Uber years ago with 1 missing preamp tube (undisclosed). When I politely asked the seller to ship me one, he rudely bitched that they are cheap enough so it shouldn't be an issue because I got a "good deal".

Suffice it to say, he got some particularly nasty negative feedback on Ebay from me

Very poor response from the seller. As someone already mentioned in this thread, I am sure that the seller would be pissed if the situation were reversed.

Thanks for the support guys. Made me feel better, really did. It wasn't the money at all, just the principle of it coupled with the arrogance of his response.

This is the exact (copy and paste) response I received:
"At no point did the Ebay ad or my discussion with you via private messages imply that a cable was included in the sale.

This is something you clarify before the sale, not afterwords."

His TGP username is Tormenous (low post count). His actual name is Justin Morse and he's from Houston Texas. I purchased a JVM from him-the one I now have for sale. No worries though, I'll hook up whoever buys it with a power cable and cable to connect the footswitch.

Jeez....that's like selling someone a car and telling them the keys aren't included. I just had to order a 2nd key for my Chrysler 300C I bought through Lexus San Diego because they couldn't find the 2nd one that was part of the deal.

I should have put that "2nd key for free" expressly in the deal paperwork, but as I've found out lots of people aren't good for their word after they get your money.

I have to agree the response you got from him is pure dueshe, but me personally..... I can't get myself worked up about a power cable. I've forgotten many while flipping or selling, but I've always accommodated those who I've dealt with. Footswitch cable.... Depends on the footswitch I guess? If it's a standard instrument cable.... Again, not worth getting my blood pressure up. Maybe it's the job I work....... But you have to choose what your gonna allow yourself to get worked up about. Just my opinion.

Ohhh, I agree. Definitely. I was just blown away by the arrogance of the response. I get a lot worse at my job as well so I feel you there. I didn't let it get my blood pressure up or anything, if anything it brought me down a little bit. People just feel so entitled. It was just a, "holy shit...really!? moment" I felt like sharing.

Sorry to hear you are being treated with such little respect.
You can report this to the mods on TGP as they keep a list of complaints against sellers. I did.

I bought an amp from TGP that was in the US a while back. I paid by bank transfer as he was adding fees. That costs £30 ($45).
The full amount was sent. There was another charge taken from the US side, that was nothing to do with me.
He wouldn't ship the amp until I covered that extra fee of $30 too. Held me to ransom. I was fuming at his intransigence as I had paid a top price of $1900 for the amp. No amount of proof that the charge was not to do with my end would appease him.
I learnt a harsh lesson on that deal. Luckily, I love the amp and it is a keeper. I had asked for references before sending money, so made sure I contacted them again to let them know my experience did not mirror theirs.
