TGP Deal - Really!?

I purchased an amp from TGP. I received it without a power cord or cable for the footswitch. I thought, no biggie, he probably forgot (which I've done myself). The response I get is, "I never said in the ad that a power cable or footswitch cable would be included, you should have thought about that before you sent me payment." Really guy!!!?

Don't know what is going on lately. After my JVM sells I'm taking a break from flipping. It's been a bunch of little things but still, I've had enough for awhile.
 
That is so annoying, specially with the response. I mean for me, I would try to do anything within reason to make the buyer happy, and certainly not be shady. cables are just assumed to come unless stated imo...
 
I've seen the same thing...it seems to be really hard to get a deal to go smoothly as of late. There is always some surprise :/

As for his response, pathetic...those cables are worth literally nothing...he should send them just to make sure you are happy. I would.
 
It would cost the dude what 20 bucks at most to replace those two cables? Why wouldn't he include them? what a POS.

I had similar experiences buying amps off the TGP forum. Both off of well established members. The first amp was a Musicman Fuchs that hummed very badly. I had to re-wire the heater circuits on the power tubes with a twisted pair and that totally fixed it. Hard to belieive but yes that came out of Andy's shop. My SigX pops quite loudly when switching channels. Tubes were so old they wouldn't even bias correctly. Just haven't gotten around to taking it in to get the pop problem fixed yet. It just irks me that the sellers don't say a word before selling it to you. And then they say that they didn't notice it... yeah right! I wouldn't feel right selling an amp without full disclosure of what any problems were.
I feel like I am 0 for 2 over there and done for awhile :scared:
 
Ive forgot to pack an amp or effect with the power cord and just wrap it up and put it in a Priority flat envelope and ship it for 5 bucks or refund what it cost at GC. I feel the cord IS part of the deal. I have so many around here that if someone I have dealt with before honestly forgets then its no biggie.

The footswitch maybe I would give slack on if its not some proprietary monsterswitch, but not the cord.
I forget to ship power cords all the time and send them separate once I realize it ehich is usally after I get home from shipping.
 
There are a lot of two-faced shady characters over there. Very scungy no matter how they dress it up...

I keep a small but growing shitlist of douchebag sellers at TGP that I have gathered via PM'ing over there and will add him. :thumbsup:

There is a dark side to the TGP Emporiums just imo.

I got burned on an amp deal there. :doh:

Because of their "no bad deal made public" policy the TGP Emporium's attract bottom feeders and shady types who will use that policy to shield themselves after a sale.

After an amp I bought there was mis-represented I mentioned the bad deal on as many threads as I could get away with without mentioning the users name.

Even talked to the guy on the phone and had no idea he was mis-representing it.

Turned out later that the username disappeared/was deleted at some point after I bought the amp. It was "zdawg".

Can't out him there (no deals gone bad), but you could report it to the mods there, if you have his response in writing...not sure if they will do anything (really, what can they do except suspend him for a few days...?)

If it's ok with Brad, I'd out him here to let people here know who to avoid.

I'd expect power cable with an amp, and if it included a footswitch, the footswitch cable too. Seller should have stated this, you shouldn't have to ask. Seems you can't make any common assumptions these days.

What do buyers need to do? Hey seller, on that amp your selling:
Does it have a power cord? Does it include all working tubes? Does it have a chassis? Does it have a shell? Does it have all transformers? Are all input and out put jacks included, and connected?....really, WTF?

I sold a used Mac laptop a few years ago and forgot the power extension cord (never used it), got a civil but annoyed email from the buyer, I apologiized and said I never used it, forgot about it and would send it to him; found it, and shipped it on my dime, my mistake so my responsibility to make it right.
 
Wow, yeah that place was become somewhat risky. Confusion over a power cable maybe - but a footswitch cable?!? No way - it should be included no questions. Some of those cables are pretty expensive so he should make it right on both cables or refund you the money to purchase replacements.
 
I could see forgetting the cable, it happens, but he is response confirms he is just an a-hole

WTF? There are douchebags all over the place, yes here too. I would do as mentioned to call the dude out on the TGP and let his peers pile on him. I have an extremely low tolerance for bullshit myself. I have a ton f stuff I've been wanting to get rid of but I hate eBay tire kickers and dickheads. I have sold very few items the past several years and usually just out of the blue to cool people I known for a while

Could you imagine selling an amp and removing every tube, power cord, footswitch and then when asked say "I never said they were included and you should have asked" ? the nerve of some people...
