I have been looking at the on line videos of the Marshall 1 watters...

With an MSRP of about $1k, and the limited production run, I'm sure it is beyond my reach...

So I was thinking...

The first tube I built was a 1 watter... and funny thing, it used a 12AU7 power tube, just like the baby Marshalls...

I'm thinking about rolling up a 12AU7 power section and sticking a JCM800 or JTM or JMP pre in front of it... :D

I'll bet it doesn't cost me $200 in parts for one....

any other homebrew amp builders on here?

I want that 1 watt 800. That thing should be mass produced and sold for 499$!

The Vox Little Night Train runs a 12au7 and in thick mode covers some Marshall ground. I'm borrowing one and it's fun.

I agree!
Like I said in the other 1 watt thread, if they retail for $800, street price may come down to $560 with the standard 30% discounts out there on current Marshalls.

When they come out I want gut shots of all of them and then maybe a schem so I could just build one. lol

It's 2012 and they're running out of ideas in the amp world. very simple. all of the combinations have been manufactured in the tube amp world.

and they say (e.g. Steve at roc and roll doctor in burbank, where i just dropped off my switchblade for service) that the more channels, the less tone.

I thought those diezels I tried were pretty decent (maybe not worth the $$$) and they have more than 1 or 2 or 3 channels.

I think if we consider what's out there it's truly amazing. Everything from high gain 1w heads to 16 slot preamps for modules running the gamut from chimey clean to brutal gain. Of course everyone is looking for the holy grail of modded Marshall tone as well.

i dunno.

i already pre=ordered my jcm-1 (the 800).

I think they are cool, and could make the perfect bedroom/living room practice amp for my needs.

25/10 watt mesa is just too loud and needs to be loud.
15 watt orange wants to be loud as well.

but 1, with a soak switch to even lower?
with a baby on the way, this sounds good to me to deal with a newborn.

so i ordered one.

I got a chance to play them at NAMM and they sounded great. Sure, a bit of a novelty, but a cool one at that.

Dont forget to contact our forum's own Mod Squad if you are interested in these

Cool. How much of a discount?? And did you have to pay up front, or leave a deposit, etc?
