Why doesn't the President hold himself to that standard? His Memorial Day message was awful and partisan. I like presidents who don't make sacred observances about themselves.

Yes, that is exactly what I expect any president, Democrat or Republican, to do. Trump gave a Memorial day message about himself, not the ones who gave their lives for this country. I don't care what his grievances are. That day is not about him.
