Caught these guys local last night. Holy $hit what a live band! What a vibe. You listen to their tunes and they've got some good bangers but I never would have expected those to translate even better live. My buddy and I both thought this was one of the best shows we've ever been too. Small venue, hot and sweaty, stage close up and personal. The sound was thunderous and the band is super tight. Aldrich is the total package. The guy looks the part, plays incredible, has great tone, and he interacts with the crowd. He's just a good guy and human being. At the end of the show he put his guitar around some girl for a few pics, was bumping fists and slapping hands all night. They even brought a guy on a wheelchair up on stage to rock out for a bit. Amazing energy.
Corabi and the rythm section are also stand out. Corabi is that seasoned vet who gives 100% and works a crowd. They genuinely enjoy what they do and they appreciate the support, you can feel it. Totally opposite of YJM who kept reminding us how many songs he had left before he got the hell out of there lol.
Gear wise, they have been using Blackstar live and have an endorsement now. Doesn't matter much though, Doug sounds like he sets it to a good rythm crunch and then hits it with his Rocket Fuel box. Super simple pedalboard, essentially the same as he shows in the recent rig run downs. Goes to show just like Lynch, you don't need to have a crazy board like Pete Thorn or a lot of these modern guys play. Just the basics and your performance will do the rest. Anyone know if Majik Box still makes the Rocket fuel? That thing cuts. Anyway check em out if you can, 40$ CAD a ticket, I don't know how these guys are making any cash from this. They could easily have charged 60$ for that show.
