The Essentials/Elementals............. What are yours *_*

Honestly may have to bump the 6 band EQ for noise gate and an essential now or at least tied ImO for sure.

Check on the V30s too come to think of it or well a Greenback type speaker like a Boss Waza Craft or the G12M Reissues...... 70th Anniversary G12H30s aren't bad either :dunno:

But yeah something about V30s/Greenback type speakers and higher gain

ive certainly had rigs where an EQ was necessary

but IME if I have a v30s or greenback style speakers and marshall-style higher gain amp with big iron (or even a 5150) I can always EQ it to sound great without one

Where it gets tricky is with boogies or fenders or something, at least for me

I can never seem to get enough "cut" and kerrang

Yup pretty much the reason I took off my 6 Band EQ off and out of the chain for now and may only use it for my other amps like the Katana Artist Mkll, Princeton Reverb, AC15 pretty much anything outside of what your saying.

With the Bad Cat Lynx the inherent ballpark and nature of that typical supped up Marshall/5150 on steroids is in the amp already. 5150/Marshall share some DNA in that sense IMO and they overlap in some regards when it comes to lower upper mids. And with the Waza Craft Speaker I get a 100 Watt Greenback with so much thump, balls and solid yet relaxed top end with plenty of lower upper mids and polite mids in general.

Maybe the only Fender amp one could get away with not using the EQ for that type of tone would be a Bassman or a poor mans Bassman the Hot Rod Deluxe and Blues Deluxe Deluxe but even then...... Yeah I mean they are Fenders. Same with Mesas I figure because it's just a different branch along the lines. Mesa/Fender share more in common in that regard.

No wrong or right or this is better that this or that just observations for sure. Hell I love my Fender Princeton Reverb as much as I love my Bad Cat too but just different horses for different courses.
