i usually lurk on these grounds until there's a shit storm in progress because my vh4 works like a charm and i don't have any issues with it. anyhow... on to the problem... last night my stupid fellow guitarist, as usual, took my vh4, put it on his randall 2×12 cab, connected "all" the cables, switched the head on, waited for the tubes to warm up and hit the standy switch to "on". no sound was coming out, i checked everything out and the idiot didn't connect speaker cab. ouch... yeah, i know. i turned it off instantly and prayed to gods (and peter diezel for that matter) that something didn't blow up (white smoke didn't come out of the head, i've heard it's best to keep it inside
)... anyhow... next two minutes you had me swearing like a mad man (and believe me, my language is rich with dirty stuff, you can't begin to imagine how, well, imaginative we can be)... after that, i connected the speaker cab to head, turned it on and fortunately, it's working as it should. now, after such a lengthy intro, my question goes to all knowledgeable folks here - should i be worried or just consider myself plain stupid lucky that i acted fast and turned it off? shipping this to peter would be an adventure in it's own right, not to mention the cost of having it repaired.
