After the Fire - Excellent cover of "The Messiah Will Come" by Roy Buchanan...a solid album that maybe lacks some fire song wise but playing is still great.

after the WAR

I love corridors and run for cover.....I have the lizzy tribute DVD and it is amazing
Lol...that's awesome, no clue why I typed After the Fire. I'm losing it

I know we had a thread a good while ago on Gary Moore, but rather than digging up a zombie thread, I thought I would start a new one.

I am late to the Gary Moore party, but picked up his 'Out in the Fields, the Best of Gary Moore' CD a while back and wanting to dig deeper.

What are the essential 2 or 3 albums I should start with and are there any that are not worth getting?

Victim Of The Future, We Want Moore, After The War, Corridors Of Power.

My favourite is Wild Frontier, but being Irish I am biased.

If you want to see the best of the blues stuff, then the Live Blues album is probably one of the most compelling and best sounding live albums you will ever hear. By anyone.

I also love the Dirty Fingers stuff.

Wild frontiers was the era when I got into him, the Album is connected to many Personal memories, so it's my fav too.

Corridors of Power is my fave. The greatest dirty rock Strat tone ever recorded.

A friend of mine's cover band (Zen) did Gary's version of "Shapes of Things" at a gig last night and they did a hell of a job with it. Was the first time they played it live (I think) and Art Eichle (guitarist) pretty much nailed the solo. He also did a great job of Knopfler's "Sultans of Swing" fingerstyle like Knopfler does it and pretty much nailed that too. Were they PERFECT versions of those solos... probably not. But pretty damn good and I just wanted to give Art a shout-out on the forum and give credit where it was due. Considering the PA issues and horrible heat they were dealing with outside on stage, it was pretty awesome that he did such a great job at copping those solos/tunes and I wish I'd have pulled-out my phone to get a video and post it.
