The Steavens poundcake is an unbelievable German 4 channel amp. He was the original guy who worked with the schenker boys! At the level of Diezel build and tone. I prefer it to any of the Diezel amps! Plays like no other amp I've owned and I owned and played a few!
The egg is my original TOL Bruce built me in early 95! Suck a great amp it's really a sleeper amp!

Yes he was modifying marshalls in Germany mid to late 80's

What do you think of the Sig X ? It's been the amp I use the most for the last few years.

I really like it. Channel 2 is so clean and dynamic for high gain! Really surprising how present, and articulate. I'm really liking it.

So far I am also! I really like the mild overdrive almost tele like tones I am getting out of a full HB. Then roll the pot and you have a great, I mean great rhythm tone! Cause I cant play a lead for shit so tjhe red channel is just icing but still very clean and the definition is what is really blowing me away.

Exactly..... Complete reflection of what I am doing with my hands. I play with a lot of dynamics... So having a amp that can do any range of gain and still be dynamic works for me.
I take it you have noticed you can hear the individual notes in complex chords reguarless of how the amp is voiced.

Yup...it reproduces everything...subtle pick scrapes or drone notes...you hear them even when loud and with 3/4 gain. I am really surprised...my Eggy which I thought sounded great with that kind of tone is big time dull and blanket over it when I attempt to get that clean gain! Does the song writing, rhythm gain! I'm really surprised! Cant wait to hook everyone up with my Eggy SS4 and have each channel

Just played the Sig x again. Man this amp is so cool! Clean, articulate, dynamic just wow! So it's like a pedal over drive into a deluxe but so big and thick and full even threw my 4x10! This is such a great combination.

I have had a SigX in the past, I tried , Sovtek, Winged C and Shuguang Power tubes in it, I preferred Shuguang big time! Way more headroom , much better handling of high volume distorted sound.

Yes that's the other great thing! The clean I want is not the clean channel. Its the 2nd channel with my volume pot rolled back and it does exactly what I want as does 3!
