...the more I'm convinced that I don't need my amps. Well, almost convinced. I'll need em if I ever play live again, but for recording and just fiddling around on my own those tube monsters are overkill.

I took a sick day today and used my time off to record a cover of Metallica's "No Leaf Clover" because it seemed like a good idea at the time. I was planning on reamping later on, but I'm really happy it the tones came out and said fuck it.

Every guitar and bass tone made through Amplitube, even the wah on the solo. I wish it could do something about my playing and singing, but that's another matter for another time.

I've been using it lately later at night. It's more satisfying than you'd think. Still...I plug into my little home rig and it's just...more real

I don't understand why it's taking so long to catch on. I dig Amplitube something awful. Soooo many rigs available. Didn't dig the Slash gear too much. But the Engl and the 5150 150w is very pleasing.

Yeah, it's always a lot of fun to get the walls shaking. Amplitube still can't do that.

I haven't played the Slash stuff. I dig the Mesa profile with a boost in front and a 414 on the cab sim.

I just started using Amplitube yesterday, and I'm already getting some great sounds.

We should post up our presets, share them with each other. I made a really cool Eric Johnson kinda deal last night with 2 Vibroverb's in stereo, a compressor, tubescreamer and a chorus out front, some digital delay and tube compressor at the end. I put it together in about 20 minutes at 3:00 in the morning last night, so more tweaking is in order. I'll post up the preset file here in a bit

Within 15 minutes of using it yesterday, I got a great high gain metal sound with the Recto model and a boost up front. I've found that running 2 amp models is key to getting good sounds though. After using 2 amp models and going back to one, the tones are really thin and lifeless sounding.

Has anyone gotten any good sounds out of the Mark III module? I've not been able to get a single decent sound out of that one. I wanted to run it along with a Marshall sound for a high gain rhythm sound, but I can't get anything good out of the Mark III.

I use Amplitube3 and Guitar Rig 5. I get great sounds that I'm very happy with in minutes. There's a lot of great sounds to be had, and for a reasonable price.

What's not to love?

I like the Mark III for jazzy cleans. I think some modules are kinda crap sounding, but there are some crap amps in real life, so I don't worry about it too much. I find the amps that have potential and just tweak the shit out em. Don't overlook the cab and mic selection and really don't get hung up on their model names. Just start flipping through them and moving the mic position around. They'll make or break any amp tone.

It's harder to annoy your neighbors, I guess?

You always need a 100 watt tube amp at home. I use these to introduce myself to new neighbors.

Meh. The more I play my VH4, the more I wish I had a bigger house away from neighbours so I could crank the fucker up!

The price of your own shame for pirating things lol? :gethim:

Amen, I am in. I love amplitube 3.

Clip sounds great. What did you use?! I'd like the preset. I tend to use the tube compressor a lot in the end of some amp models. It tames them and pushes the sound better more uniform frequency-wise in relation to the rest of the mix as I perceive it.

For me the rockerverb amp model justifies the orange pack alone and its my favorite.

The mark model boosted and carefully eq'ed sounds very close to the real thing also.
Slo rocks...So does jet city. I like the jet city more than the soldano model.

I can't really get along with the marshalls and all but I am really not the greatest marshall fan anyway.

Only kind of disadvantage is I've tried with external IRs in DAW and it doesn't want to co operate and when it does, it sounds worse than with it's own cabs but then I am perfectly happy with how it sounds.

rockerverb double tracked.

It reacts to different guitars and mood soooo good. Some have post eq and some don't and you can also shape the sound in the master bus with aggresive or smooth compression but the juice is there. Orange juice indeed!

and

Left overloud Th2 grail MTS module with right orange rockerverb amplitube 3

Still it's a heavy plugin. Th2 is far lighter and in some cases, as good sounding (love the brunetti and MTS amp models).
