The new Kirk Hammett ESP Sig has Scalloped Neck....

It´s from the 17th, which makes it a bit less extreme and easier to get into, but cool none the less.
 
Scallops are tricky, I'm glad to see it's 17th and up... 12th and up might have rendered the guitar useless in the hands of most players.

I've demo'd a couple scalloped fingerboard guitars... Not sure. There's stuff I love about 'em (ease of note punctuation, clarity, speed), but then there's the inevitable vibrato that happens with an untrained hand. Up in the 17th zone and above, I'd be bending the notes mostly anyway, so it might not matter.

I love ESPs... I think they're awesome MIJs compared to the competition :thumbsup:

Thanks for the heads up. After recently installing a FU/BBB to my FR-II, I can't imagine it getting any slicker, but it's nice to know they're refining their products...good stuff :yes:

I hear there's word that his Wah pedals will be scalloped soon.

Personally I think KH's talent's become 'scalloped' in the last decade or so :aww:

I am just guessing since his plain black signature one is $2900 and I think I heard them say the ESP one was limited to 35??
 
ESP goes absolutely bananas with the pricing sometimes, so I actually wouldn´t lift an eyebrow if they came out with a 4K price tag. I mean, didn´t the Ouija reissue from last year sell for NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS?

the wah over abuse killed it for me =( but some of my favourite metallica solos are actually from hetfield (master of puppets..to live is to die..)
 
I think its cool....but would never drop that much coin on a guitar.
 
I love ESP,i have a few as well,but DAM,ESP is moving in Gibson direction,re-hashing the same guitar for more
money,what's a stock MII going for?!?! I DO like the color :thumbsup:
