I posted this in my NGD thread, but it's buried deep in there, so thought I'd post a new one with the demo.

PLEASE go gentle, I know there are probably settings and things I missed, but it's just quick demo...I'm not Pete Thorn by any stretch of the imagination. But a lot of folks are interested in this new SLO, so hopefully this helps someone looking for a (not so polished) review.

Cool Video man. I had one of the old Slos..I say old. It was a 2018, but i only kept it for a month or so and went back with the Avenger. But I think Soldano made some cool amps.

Nice job! This demonstrates how the amp can get really aggressive when boosted. When I got my first one in 2014, I liked it but didn't love it. When I tried some different settings it got better, but when I boosted it that's when it really hit me as to how amazing the amp is.

Sounds great!

Do you notice a slight difference in tone wine you take the loop out of the circuit? A friend had an SLO years ago that had a switch to take the loop completely out and it sounded a lot better when the loop was switched off.

Yeah, it just blossoms up when hit with some pedals. I think the best show of that is in the video when I leave the amp at my “fav” settings and then kick on the EQ in the AxeFx, then kick on the EQ pedal hitting the front of the amp. That is my favorite, sounds full but adds some sizzle.
Note I’m coming out of the amp speaker -> Suhr Reactive Load -> AxeFx3. For the pedal part of the video, the AxeFx has EQ->CabIR->Delay->Reverb. For the first part of the video, the AxeFx only has a CabIR.

Actually I have not tried the loop yet, so not sure. See the path above.

Sounds like a SLO. I've owned 3 of the OG models.

I liked the post-Eq and Airis SD portions best.

Good work!!!

That sounded pretty killer to me. Was really cool to hear it with all the different boosts. Nice demo man. Very good job.

Edit...it just hit me what that lead line is at the end. Is that “Bad Love” by Clapton?

Thanks, appreciate that.

I had finished and figured I should put some kind of solo in there to hear how that sounded, so those were just things I noodle around with all the time. I knew that sounded familiar, but really couldn't place it. Yes, it does sound very close to Bad Love, haha.

Yup, the post EQ part was sweet.
Seems like it has the SLO DNA to me.
Not sure, but I don't think you could use that pedal in loop of an OG SLO and have it sound like that....... ;)

It sounds good. I'd encourage you to try the same pedals pushing the Normal Channel set for crunch and with the preamp gain turned up. I actually prefer to play rhythm like that on my SLO. i'll push it like an old Marshall 2203. Then I dial the OD channel in just for leads.

I don't think he used the loop at all, yet....

I thought "post EQ" meant that he had the EQ pedal in the loop vs "pre EQ " pushing the front end.
Maybe the OP can clarify.

The post EQ was after the Suhr Reactive Load.
I’m coming out of the amp speaker -> Suhr Reactive Load -> AxeFx3.
For the pedal part of the video, the AxeFx has EQ->CabIR->Delay->Reverb.
For the first part of the video, the AxeFx only has a CabIR.

OK thanks for the info!
I thought maybe ( was really hoping actually ) that was the new SLO loop
The loop on my '93 SLO drove me nuts, and is one of the reasons it's not here anymore.

I’ve still got everything setup, I’ll put The EQ in the loop tonight and post a quick link.

I created an MP3 of the same DI track but this time put a 5Band EQ directly in the loop of the amp.
First 10 seconds are straight in, 11s - 20s is with the EQ in the Loop. For the last 25 seconds I clicked on the Pre-EQ and Savage Drive.

Here is the Post EQ setting that is in the Loop now. This is roughly the same settings I had on a 5Band EQ inside the AxeFx.
