model your own amp - that's actually pretty cool! I'm gonna check it out for sure at NAMM.
Well... that's it... the day of the tube amp is almost over...

Steve

oh, I doubt that - but it does look like something cool to have around, or at least mess with for a little while.
But... once we run every one of 'em through that doohickey, what'll we need 'em for?

well, you gotta have your amps to tweak - so when you get a better tone you're not stuck with your old sucky one...

I think that is a very cool idea...hope it actually works well!

I am going to invent the air guitar where it looks like you are playing a guitar that sounds like you are playing through a real amp. While I am at it, I'll throw in lip synch as well.

Fresh in the tube - this might be the first example how it works:

Woah, that thing looks like something straight out of mystery science theatre.!!! pretty neat though. I can imagine all the comments bringing that space rocket looking contraption to a gig. HAHA. I would be more interested in them having great models to start with, with the profiling as an addition. I only have one amp, and its not a top dollar one. If they load some killer ones in, might be something to look at. I bet it will come with quite a price tag.

Someone let me know when a recorded direct amp modeler sounds like an amp. Thanks.

i never thought i would say this, but modeler for modeler the axe does sound better.

neither have the neunces and qwirks of an amp - and the easy to set knob layout. this damn thing looks like a spectrum analyzer i see in labs i work in.

I can almost imagine some kid saving 1600dollars to buy this, after playing with nothing but his old beat up marshall MG15fx only to have only his practice amp to profile =)

If they put up all manner of profiles up to download and some kind of user community that would be great, kind of like an open source modeller

it still looks like a science experiment on top of a cabinet if you were to use one, i like the concept tho
