Seriously, I can't emphasize enough how much more lucid I feel when I'm jamming or playing in front of a crowd. Sometimes I feel like people take the things they love for granted... So throw down your appreciation, anecdotes, crazy band stories, awesome moments of inspiration here!

I don't play my EBMM Axis guitar, I make love to it nightly.

Played over three hours Sunday at a friend's house.......................with an acoustic and loved it. Both plugged in to his small pa and just jammed till the beer was gone, great times and soothes the soul

Those times are the best dude. Just a bunch of guys with some booze and music, no cares in the world :)

I played a few tunes with my friend's cover band on saturday night. This cool dude who's a vet and was injured in war has his garage set up as a huge jam space now. It was his and his wife's 40th anniversary, so they had a huge bash and played three sets of music and rocked it all night.

I played "Nutshell" (AIC) which some of you guys probably know is one of my favorite songs to play. I get into the music and almost zone out when I play songs like that, and my buddy said that I looked like I wasn't having a good time. I told him I just "feel" certain songs when I play them and I'm not going to put on some "flashy" show and fake a choreographed performance with dance moves!( I hate when people do that)

When I was done playing I got a huge round of applause and afterwards an older guy came up to me and said he loved my playing, and that it looked effortless, but heartfelt. I don't get to play out often anymore, but when I get compliments and make someone feel what I feel when I'm playing, it makes my day and I remember why I started playing in the first place!

My old band mate told me the best band story ever. He and the bassist were hooking up with some chicks after a gig and the guitar player was getting a blow job. He yells over the the bassist to let him borrow his chick for a few minutes. He allows. He then had the chick that was blowing him, jerk him off into the other girls mouth.  The funniest part of the whole story is that the bassist ended up marrying the chick that drank the banana juice      He divorced her a few years later
Touching story Dave!

It's funny how some things are just "right" or "natural".

Regardless of what's going on in the day-to-day world of work/bills/parenting/etc.... , once I play guitar for a little while.....everything just makes sense and seems A-OK.

The exprerssion "Good for the soul" has never been more appropriate.

I just got this on Friday...and I can't put it down! It's one of those pieces of gear that is just inspiring to play. I've been noodling and creating cool new licks everytime I pick it up

That's one of my favorite songs to play too, I bust it out a couple times a week while I'm practicing on the old guild acoustic cantrell style   The AIC unplugged is one of my favorite DVDs ever, me and my buddies used to drink beer and watch it at least like once or twice a week. It's got some good memories attached to it.

Just came off our best gig ever on Friday night.

Everything just worked and man, the stress I typically endure was no where to be found.

Might have been those vodka's I warmed up with?

Nope, it's the guitar G&L made for me after Oklahoma Vintage Guitar sold me a NAMM one-off that was so rushed from the factory that it looked worse than some Korean junker guitars. Of course, it was being sold as "new" and said nothing about it being a NAMM guitar, nor did the pictures show ANY of the defects.

Luckily, G&L was awesome enough to build me a brand new guitar to make up for the trouble :) I just wish they'd drop OVG as a dealer, because that's some shady business practice IMHO. I didn't even find out it was a NAMM guitar until I posted on guitarsbyleo.com where someone who was actually at NAMM identified it.

Basically, that picture is of the rebuild. I just recently refretted it with medium-jumbo SS frets and it plays better than my Suhr Pro S1 (which, admittedly, needs a good setup). I'm just happy that I own a G&L that is not, nor will be in production any time soon :D

Bump for the Wednesday crowd!

Interestingly enough, I was reflecting on my band over the course of 2009, and I realized that I've written more original material in that whole year than any other year of my life. I don't know what got into me, but I like it :D
